Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Last Minute Predictions

Bambi
With the fast approach of the final Harry Potter book, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,' more and more speculations are popping up. I've read a few predictions, but currently, I still agree the most with my own.

To start, here are some things that we know for sure, that J.K. Rowling herself has mentioned on either her website or interviews. We know that this is the final book. She will not continue the series. Seven is what she always had planned, and seven is what it will stay. We also know that with this final book, and since we know that this book is when the war shall take place, there will definitely be more deaths. There will also be a wedding, Bill and Fleur is the obvious couple. We also know that there will be more to the story of Lily and James. Some other things that have been told is that Harry's Aunt Petunia will be an important character. As well, as Albus Dumbledore will be. Now, these are the only things I know of for sure. I haven't read every single interview, nor do I visit her website every single day. So there may be some things I am missing, but this is a pretty good basis.

I'm going to start with couples. As much as I would love to see Hermione and Draco together, which would be hugely forbidden, I know that that's not going to happen. Hermione and Ron have been cannon for some time now. Another obvious couple is Harry and Ginny. Though it may take some time for the relationship to go forward, I still think it will happen. Perhaps these couples won't take place, maybe since they are so obvious, she'll change it just to make everything a little less predictable, who knows. One not so obvious couple that I think will blossom and develop is Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood. Two awkward people that I think belong together. If you think about each character, and then think of them together, you'll see that it could really work and that they're perfect for each other.

Dumbledore has a portrait. Just like all the other headmasters before him, it is only appropriate for him to have one, too. And since we know that even though he is dead in this book, that he'll still be an important character...well, what other way for his importance to shown than as a portrait. This way he is still able to guide and give advice to Harry and anyone else who comes seeking it. If this doesn't happen, I will be quite sad. He better be able to talk, just like all the other portraits.

Another thing I am pretty sure about is that Harry is the Heir of Gryffindor. Voldemort is the Heir of Slytherin. Because of this, I think that it is only logical for Harry to be the Heir of Gryffindor. Harry and Voldemort are closely connected, and I think that this is one huge difference between them. Also, Harry pulling out Godric Gryffindor's sword in 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' I think is also and indication. Plus, his parent's lived in Godric's Hollow. The key word being Godric, as in Godric Gryffindor. Also, J.K. Rowling has confirmed that the two are indeed connected in some way. His parent's were also both in the Gryffindor house when they went to Hogwarts.

As far as Horcruxes go, we already know that the diary was a horcrux, and the ring that Dumbledore destroyed was a horcrux. We also know that Slytherin's locket is a horcrux, and that it is most likely the one found at Number 12 Grimmauld Place. We also know that Hufflepuff's cup is a horcrux. So since he had something of Slytherin's and Hufflepuff's, I think that it is safe to assume that something of Hufflepuff's is a horcrux or something of Gryffindor's. I believe it is more likely to be something of Hufflepuff's. I believe is the sword that Harry pulled out of the sorting hat back in 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.' would have made a nice horcrux, but I doubt it is. With that, leaves one more horcrux. Many speculate that the last horcrux is Harry though I quite disagree. A horcrux would mostly likely take a difficult spell in order to be created. There is no way that Voldemort would have had time to make Harry a horcrux. There is also thoughts that it may be Nagini, Voldemort's snake. However, I think perhaps it might be the large trophy that Voldemort acquired when going to school at Hogwarts, that was awarded to him for special services. It's in the trophy case at Hogwarts, and we know that the items must be of importance, and since he became Lord Voldemort at school, this is one thing that might have been important to him at the time. Plus it's not an obscenely obvious object, which I think makes it even more likely.

I believe that Snape is good. He killed Dumbledore because he had no other choice, and it's what Dumbledore wanted and asked of him. Dumbledore has always trusted Snape, and because he believed that Snape was good, I do too. Because Draco was the one who was supposed to kill Dumbledore, but couldn't, I believe he too, is good. However, I think that they will both die. I believe Snape will die because his betrayal will be very apparent in the end, and Draco will die because he disobeyed orders. I think that Lucius Malfoy will die as well, considering his son was such a disappointment. Of course that means Narcissa will die as well, since her family failed so much.

For awhile I thought that Voldemort and Harry would both die, but now I think that Voldemort will die while Harry lives. Killing Harry would just downright cruel. I believe that Ron and Hermione will also survive. They've been with Harry through a lot, and so far they've survived, and because of this I think that they shall survive what ever may come next as well. I believe Bellatrix will die, because Neville will finally avenge his parents. Neville will live. As will Luna. Some think that Colin Creevy will die, because it has been said that "a big fan of Harry's" dies. However, I think that this could also be Arthur or Molly Weasley, just as easily as Colin. So I think that Colin will live and either Arthur or Molly will die, perhaps both. I think that all of the teachers, except for Trelawney survives. I think that Trelawney will die for the simple fact that she created the prophecy that unites Harry and Voldemort.

While there are so many deaths, I think that there is one death that will come back. I think that Sirius will come back in this book in some form. I simply find it hard to believe that him falling through a veil means the end of him. That, that is what caused his death. I don't think we've seen the last of him.

There are a ton of things that still need to be explained, and somehow 784 pages are supposed to do that. Maybe my entire prediction will be wrong. However, there is only one way to find out, and that's by reading 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow's,' out on July 21.
