Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows To Be Released This July

Harry Potter 7 is Coming. Are You Ready?

Amy Brantley
Harry Potter fans were both overjoyed and yet saddened at the same time as they finally found out the release date of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The news was released at the J.K. Rowling website on Thursday February 1st and immediately flooded the internet like crazy. Within a few hours companies like Amazon and Barnes and Noble began to offer Harry Potter fans the chance to pre-order Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which will be released on July 21, 2007.

As a fan, I have so many questions. Will Harry Potter die? Is Snape really evil? Will J.K. Rowling really quite writing the Harry Potter series or will the thoughts of another cool million be enough to make her write more? But one of the most important questions focuses on the companies who have published the Harry Potter series. What will happen to Bloomsbury and Scholastic? Bloomsbury's stock rose 2.2 percent after the news was released Thursday, but what will happen after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has released and everyone has snatched up their own personal copy? Without anymore Harry Potter books being written, will the stock in both companies fall drastically? One can hope that Scholastic and Bloomsbury will continue to seek out children's authors who will have books as great as the Harry Potter series.

Because of Harry Potter millions of children around the world have actually wanted to read. There are few other books that have done as much for children's literacy as the Harry Potter books have. One can only hope that there will continue to be books written that will encourage children to read. J.K. Rowling has spoken before about plans to write more books, but will they ever live up to what she has already created?

As a hardcore Harry Potter fan, I do look forward to reading the last installment, but it's still the ending of a great series that may never have a competitor that comes close to being as good. I hope other fans are just as happy as I am to know that they will finally have their ending in just under 6 months. The time has come to have all our questions answered, but are you ready for it to end? Are you prepared for Harry's death, which is very likely to happen? How will you feel when you finish that final page? Will it be a feeling of contentment or sadness?

Can't wait for this to come out. My daughter wants it just as bad as I do. We may have to buy two copies because I don't think she'll wait for me to read it first and she takes forever. lol

Wow, I didn't know it was going to be released in July! Then again I did see signs to preorder it in barnes & Noble recently. I need to get my order in. I can't wait to read it but at the same time I don't want it to end. I also don't believe Snape is evil. Too many things don't add up. I just cannot lose faith in him.

I'm still torn on Snape. I think he's got the evil streak in him, and proved it by killing Dumbledore, and by making the pact with Malfoy's mother inf the first place. As far as Scholastic goes, I can tell you they publish tons of childrens material...They'll be fine after Harry is finished. I'm looking forward to book seven, but not looking forward to the series ending. Hopefully, Jim Dale is on board to narrate the audio version of Deathly Hallows.

I read a librarian's blog where she shared her experience of wearing a "trust Snape" t-shirt to work. She said she never had so many people stop and give her their 2 cents. She said what was even more surprising is that she's not a children's librarian. Adults were the ones stopping to argue or agree with her. Good stuff.

Thanks Sharon! I didn't start reading them until right before the 6th one was released. I wish I had waited so I could have read them all at once.

Now I will finally make a confession. I have never read one Harry Potter book and I have not seen one of the movies. I cannot stand waiting for installments. I know - I seem to specialize in writing serials - but I cannot stand reading them until every installment is available. This news means that I can finally read all the Harry Potter books! Thanks for heads up! Great article!

    Voldemort yeah, but not Snape.
