EASY RECIPES
Recipe #1
It cannot get any simpler than this!
Ingredients:
8oz ginger ale or cream soda
2-3 tablespoons of butterscotch syrup
Directions:
1. Mix in a tall glass and serve over ice
Recipe #2
Just as easy as Recipe #1 but for adults.
Ingredients:
1 cup butterscotch schnapps
7 cups cream soda (2 liter bottle)
Directions:
1. Carefully mix just before serving, adding the schnapps to the soda then stirring gently to mix well, or the fizz will dissipate too soon
Recipe #3
This one's mostly like Recipe #1 with the addition of butter.
Ingredients:
1 cup club soda or cream soda
1/2 cup butterscotch syrup
1/2 tablespoon butter
Directions:
1. Measure butterscotch and butter into a 16 oz. glass
2. Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely melted
3. Stir and cool for 30 seconds
4. Slowly mix in club soda. Mixture will fizz quite a bit
5: Serve
Recipe #4
Similar to Recipe #1 but without the butterscotch flavor. Not sure good this one will taste.
Ingredients:
1 can of root beer OR cream soda
1 tablespoon of honey
2 teaspoons of butter
Directions:
1. Place soda into a microwave safe glass and heat in microwave for about 30 seconds
2. Remove soda and set aside
3. Place butter into microwave long enough to melt it
4. Add your soda, melted butter, and honey to the blender and blend for 5-10 seconds
5. Serve
SLIGHTLY MORE COMPLEX RECIPES
Recipe #5
This one is not that difficult but a little more work. It is more of a flavored non-chocolate cocoa.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups of milk
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 teaspoon of butter
or
2 1/2 cups of milk
1/2 cup of butterscotch chips
Directions:
1. Heat milk in a small saucepan over medium-high heat
2. Add the rest of the ingredients
3. Blend with a mixer to make it frothy
3. Bring the mixture almost to boiling
4. Serve
Recipe #6
Similar to Recipe #5 but the addition of marshmallows and optional ingredients make this unique.
Ingredients:
2/3 cup Milk
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon water
marshmallows
butter
optional:
cinnamon
scotch
Directions:
1. Put the sugar and water in a pan over high heat and stir with a wooden spoon
2. Stop stirring once bubbles start to form and the sugar has melted and caramelized
3. Once it begins to brown, shake the pan so it cooks and browns evenly
3. As soon as it removed from the heat, pour all the milk in at once (caramel will harden due to the addition of the milk, but it will gradually mix in)
4. Put the pan back on medium heat, and stir until small bubbles are forming and the milk is barely at a simmer.
5. Pour it into a mug, top with butter and marshmallows,
6. Stir well before drinking (add optional cinnamon or scotch)
7. Serve
Recipe #7
Similar to Recipe #5 but with regular sugar and salt.
Ingredients:
4 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup sugar
2 cup warm milk
1 x scant tablespoon vanilla
Pinch salt
Directions:
1. Heat butter in saucepan and melt, stirring until butter bubbles
2. Add sugar and stir slowly over medium heat until medium brown in color
3. Heat milk in microwave and pour into blender
4. Blend on low and slowly add sugar mixture
5. Add vanilla and salt
6. Blend until completely mixed
7. Serve

2 teaspoons honey
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons hot chocolate powder
1 teaspoon vanilla

DELICIOUS!
just made recipe number 8 (with the cocoa) and it was EXACTLY what I imagined it tasting like from the books! this is DEEE-LISH!
Tried the hot recipe it's way too milky for me!
SWELL
Some good recipes here... But here's a tip for people who might make the same stupid mistakes as I would! I tried Recipe #3 with butterscotch pudding instead of butterscotch syrup. FAIL. I ended up with squishy chunks floating in flat cream soda. But sometime I'll try these recipes with the proper ingredients!
I have tried two recipes one I got on of Semi Homemade on the food network not so good she put condensed milk in it and made it super sweet I have tried number 1 on here and it was pretty darn good.
I just tried out recipe #8 without the cocoa powder. It was the best one out of all of the recipes I tried. I would recommend that one the most.
I had it at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and saw this recipe today that I tried and it tastes exactly the same and is so yummy and easy: http://www.chicaandjo.com/2010/08/12/butterbeer-recipe/
i tried recipe 5 and it tastes great, almost just as i'd thought it would taste!!! this is soo cool!!!
Try OrlandoUnited.com's Butterbeer recipe. They based it off of the taste of the Butterbeer in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
