Halloween is fast approaching and the Hartford area has a variety of fun Halloween events for children, families and adults to enjoy. Here are the Halloween events coming up in the Hartford area in 2007.

Haunted History Lantern Tour
This annual event takes place Friday October 26 from 7 to 9pm at Cedar Hill cemetery, Hartford. The event will take participants on a spooky lantern lit tour of the cemetery, visiting the graves of 19th century notables. The spirit of these people will be brought to life again as you learn about their lives in this fun, interesting and spooky Hartford Halloween event. Cost is $8 or $5 for members. Participants are welcome to come dressed as their favourite resident of Cedar Hill cemetery.

Nightmare on Broad Street
This fun Halloween party takes place in Windsor centre on Halloween night, Wednesday, October 31, 2007. This Hartford area Halloween event is aimed at kids and their families. Broad Street, Windsor will be closed to traffic allowing kids to freely walk on the street trick or treating. Besides trick or treating the Halloween party will have face painting, hayrides, ghouls and goblins and fortune telling. This Halloween event is free and provides families a safe way to enjoy this spooky holiday.

Halloween Harvest Festival
The Mark Twain house in Hartford will be hosting its annual Halloween event on Saturday October 27, 2007. This year's event will feature 'Spooktacular', a show given by Mad Science of Western New England. The show lasts 45 minutes. As part of the presentations looks at the mad scientists laboratory, children while get their hands on some 'ghostly slime' and 'alien lasers'. The Mark Twain house will be haunted on the day by goblins and witches.

Also as part of this event the neighboring Harriet Beecher Stowe house will be putting on some fun family entertainment for Halloween. This includes pumpkin painting, Hayrides, puppeteers, musicians and storytellers. On Friday October 26 at the Stowe Center there will be a seance medium that will talk about Connecticut's ghosts.

Times for these various activities are as follows: 10am-4pm Pumpkin painting and other themed crafts. 10:30am Storytelling at the Stowe Center, 11am 'Spooktacular', 11am-3pm Hayrides, 12:15pm Alien Lasers, 1pm-1:30pm Costume Parade, 2:30 Mark Twain arrives and tells stories.

The cost is $10 per adult and $6 for a child for this entire day of Hartford Halloween activities for families.
