Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips come in a bright orange bag. Radiating from behind the brand name are wiggly, squiggly, sunbeams. There is something friendly looking about the bag. Towards the bottom is an image of some of the wavy square chips inside and a big chunk of cheddar cheese. Imposed on one of the chips is a red heart some sort of grain. The heart tells us that each serving of Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips has 18 grams of whole grain.
I have mentioned before that anything with any kind of cheese, or cheese flavoring, will probably win me over. I would say I am a cheese connoisseur, but I think a true connoisseur might have tastes less broad and more refined. I simply like all things cheesy. That being said, it will be no surprise for me to say that I really like Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips!
The Harvest Cheddar seasoning is a very nice blend of cheddar and ramano, with a tasty mix of spices, onion, and buttermilk. But what I like as much as the cheese flavoring are the chips themselves. Even on their own, Sun chips are really good. More than their shape makes them unique. With their blend of corn , wheat, rice, and oats, they are grainy, but not tough. They are salty, but also sweet and nutty. And while these are still not a perfect health food, with 4 percent of the daily recommended allowance per 1 oz serving, they are much better for you than potato chips, with 30 percent less fat.
Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips give you a nice little boost of nutrients: 2 percent of your daily-recommended intake of iron, 8 percent of your daily-recommended intake of vitamin E, 2 percent of your daily-recommended intake of thiamin, 2 percent of your daily-recommended intake of riboflavin, 2 percent of your daily-recommended intake of niacin, 4 percent of your daily-recommended intake of vitamin B6, 6 percent of your daily-recommended intake of phosphorus, 4 percent of your daily-recommended intake ofmagnesium, and 2 percent of your daily-recommended intake of zinc. You also get 9 percent of your dietary fiber for the day, and 2 grams of protein. Not bad for a snack food!
The only thing to watch out for with Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips is overeating. A four and a quarter ounce bag has 4.5 servings. So even if one 140-calorie ounce isn't bad, eating a whole bag gives you a decent sized meal's worth of calories. So this is still a snack to be eaten in moderation. But with that in mind snacking, I highly recommend Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips. They are one of the best cheesy munchies I have tried.
Enjoy!
