Harvest Moon Otaku: Website Review

Matt Remley
Harvest Moon Otaku is a website devoted to the video game series known as Harvest Moon. The first game of the series was released in Japan during 1996 and later for North America in 1997. Games of the Harvest Moon series are from the simulation gaming genre and have many interesting features.

Just as visitors to this website would imagine, Harvest Moon Otaku has detailed information on Harvest Moon games from 11 different gaming systems. So basically this website covers Harvest Moon games from around six generations, and features detailed guides for each of them.

Design

Being a fan created website, Harvest Moon Otaku's layout isn't very impressive. There isn't much to say about the design at all, at the top is a colorful banner and on the side are links to the various pages of the website. On the good side there are no advertisements featured on the website.

Feature

Harvest Moon Otaku has many notable features that fans of this long running series will enjoy very much. For starters the detailed information about every game in the series is amazing, the content writers for the site make sure that everything from what the game is about to the release date is there to read.

In addition to that, for every game there are guides to different aspects of that game. For example, Harvest Moon Otaku has guides to the game titled Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness. The guides for this game in the series have detailed information on the shops in the game, and even events.

The guides for Harvest Moon 64 feature information on the secrets featured in the game and even the different characters the main hero can marry. Also Harvest Moon Otaku gives visitors Game Shark codes for users to enhance their game play experience with. Overall, all of the information presented makes this site very impressive.

Another plus side to the Harvest Moon Otaku website is the fan art section where users submit their own art and fan fiction. Most of them are impressive and have user comments on them telling how great they are or farther discussing them. Those features not good enough for you? Check out the forum section to discuss any Harvest Moon game you want.

Improvements

Harvest Moon Otaku doesn't have much room for improvement as there isn't much else that would fit on this website. All of the information is perfect for the website and is very helpful to users. Overall Harvest Moon Otaku is an above average website devoted to a nearly perfect video game series.

Final Scores

8 Out of 10 - Above Average - (10 Being Perfect, 1 Being Horrible.)
