To bring the harvest in from the fields
To stock the freezers and the jars
With all the good earth yields
It is time to harvest up the fruit, vegetables, and grain
And for the winter to prepare
To freeze, preserve, and/or can
Sneaking a bite every now and then if you dare
Harvest time is one of the best
Gathering what hard work has done
Getting all the beautiful harvest in before the setting of the sun
Yes the harvest time has arrived
And everyone will agree
That harvest time is the most rewarding of seasons
And it shall always be
