Has the Body of Stacy Peterson Finally Been Found?

Ok, don't get excited, and take this with a GRAIN of salt because none of the Chicago news outlets are reporting on this yet, but TMZ is reporting that Bolingbrook woman Stacy Peterson's remains may have been found near Peoria, IL.

For those of you not familiar...Peoria is about a 3.5 hour straight shot south from Bolingbrook.

Apparently, that swell dude, Drew Peterson, currently in Jail for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, told a fellow inmate that he had an accomplice, and that accomplice disposed of the body for him.

Stacy Peterson has been missing since October 2007. A body has never been recovered.

The inmate, told authorities, and police caught up with the accomplice who led them to some hunting grounds near Peoria. Cadaver dogs were brought in and allegedly immediately "hit" on the spot. When the police put prongs in the soil where the dogs hit, there was a mass below.

The area has been guarded by Illinois State Police, and there will be a dig today.

Peterson's attorney's deny this claim as they say Drew Peterson is in isolation due to his notoriety. Which, to me is the red flag. And he's a former narcotics detective, he knows all about jailhouse snitches. Doesn't seem like something smart. But then again this is Drew. He's not that bright.

And it isn't impossible for inmates to communicate with one another in seg. Another notorious inmate, Casey Anthony, was in the news because of other inmates coming forward with details of her crime, because Anthony passed notes and talked through air vents to other inmates.

So we'll see what happens. This isn't the first time authorities thought they found Stacy. But hopefully it is something and there will be justice for Stacy and closure for her family and friends.
