Today it is more blatantly clear that the US government is working not for the interests of the American people, but the US corporations. From everything from the enablement of millions of illegal immigrant's entry into America, particularly from Mexico, the un-constitutional military intervention and occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, to the wholesale transfer of America's technological and manufacturing complex to countries such as, Communist China, Russia, and India that has lead to a doubling of the US trade imbalance since the appointment of GW Bush. There has been few times in America's history that the people have felt so abandoned by the federal leaders as is evidenced by the historic disapproval of both the US Congress and White House. With such critical issues that face the nation, such as the amassing of 40 million indigent illegal Mexican immigrants within the country causing great economic and social stress on the infrastructure and economic foundation of the nation, the growing threat and dominance of Communist China and Russia, enhanced by a asinine and treasonous trade policy, and coupled this with a nation becoming more of a debt nation, both governmentally and individually, the current political status seems willing to do anything to reverse the situation.
The Federal Comptroller in a August 2007 issue of The Financial Times, who is like the government's head accountant, stated, "The US government is on a 'burning platform' of unsustainable policies and practices with fiscal deficits, chronic healthcare underfunding, immigration and overseas military commitments threatening a crisis if action is not taken soon,..." yet Congress, and the main Presidential candidates, are looking for ways to either increase or continue the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, at a cost to the US taxpayer of $15 Billion a month, that less than 30% of the people favor, that the Veterans Administration currently estimates the medical cost of the conflict can reach as high as $500 Billion, to continue encouraging the colonization of America by more Mexicans, that has cost the US social services since 1996 nearly $400 Billion alone, according to Immigration Counters.com, the American people clearly are against their presents and any form of amnesty. On top of all that, the two Democratic candidates want to create another huge and unmandated entitlement of "universal" healthcare that will more than likely add another Trillion dollars of new entitlements on top of the recently enacted Trillion dollar expansion of Medicare Prescriptions. Not to mention the so-called federal government economic "stimulus" plan that gave every US taxpayer, and even those that pay no federal taxes, a check of $600 and more at a cost that the US Treasury still has to determined what the total cost to the taxpayer will be. All this means is that the government will have to borrow more from countries like Communist China and the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank, which can only be at the greater expense of the next generation of American's prosperity, and that of the nation as a whole. In 2006, the U. S. Government spent $406 Billion on interest to foreign bondholders alone!
It is clear the people, nor the nation look to benefit from the current political winds flowing in the central government in D.C with the huge financial contributions coming from the many corporate lobbyist, and foreign and domestic. The corporate ownership of the majority of the news media only aides in blinding the eyes and deafening the ears of the American people to the reality of the war on the American people. The overt elimination of eminent domain to secure the right of property ownership of the people in favor of corporate benefits maybe the most direct evidence of the growth of corporate influence. But, the colonization of America by Mexicans would not be accruing if not by the aide and encouragement of such groups as the US Chambers of Commerce, AFL-CIO, and the Ford and Carnegie Foundations. Keep in mind that the reason that we have to push one for English and are confronted with a encroaching bilingual environment is not due to any legislation passed by the government, local or federal, but via policies of corporations to quench their thirst for cheap workers. Evidence of US government-corporate collusion is apparent due to the flagrant lack of federal enforcement of Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii) which clearly states, "Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."The very act of allowing the influx of illegal immigrants into the country and giving them ANY support, assistance, or "sanctuary" or encouragement, is in direct violation of this Federal Act and all who offends this federal law would be prosecuted. But, they are not. The explosive exodus of manufacturing and tech businesses and jobs is due to the multinational corporations seeking cheaper business environments and the assistance of massive reduction in US government restrictions and oversight, and substantial government incentives. America is the most productive, most efficient, most innovative, and hardest working country of the planet. What logic is there in importing foreigners in mass and exporting critical technology and infrastructure to nations that have grossly lower quality of standards if the goal is to make America more prosperous?
The un-Constitutional invasion and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan is not for the benefit of the American people, but for that of the US corporations and the United Nations. All the main partner-nations that were sharing in the occupations, such as Briton, have either reduced, restricted, or removed their presence, mainly due to unfavorable domestic political and economic pressures. Unlike in the first Iraq-US conflict, when the economic expense to the US taxpayers was virtually wiped out by the financial contributions of the other partner-nations and Kuwait, no one, not the government of Iraq, via it's oil production, not the United Nations, whose resolutions was the stated reason for US military involvement, and non of the partner-nations have offered any such financial relief to the US taxpayers. Opium exportation from Afghanistan is a booming business under the occupation. Corporations such as Halliburton and Lockheed-Martin are profiting massively off the conflict, they are feeding the military and providing protection throughout both nations in a manner that could not be imagined of during the Vietnam, or any of the two world wars, at a huge expense to US taxpayer.
The US taxpayer is the most negatively taxed people in the world for we are taxed when we work, when we save, when we spend, and when we die, not only if we live in the United States, but anywhere in the world. As well as being most financially indebted nation, the total outstanding public debt is greater than $9 Trillion, according to the US Treasury, and the Fed stated in the Times that there's nearly $40 Billion in delinquent debt held by US bank's credit cards portfolios. The federal leaders only seem to want to tax the US taxpayer more and entice us to spend more, thereby getting us more indebted. All the time, the government presents no plan to allow for the creation of high paying jobs to put money into the pockets of Americans, but are allowing corporations to write bills to be passed that make it more difficult for Americans to declare bankruptcy or to save their homes while allowing the Fed to lower the interest rates on the Dollar and print more into circulation, thereby making it worth less to foreign banks and investors, therefore making the Dollar valueless, thereby making imports and goods worth more. The US Dollar has lost 30% of it's value since 2000 against major world currencies. The home crisis is due to 1) the Fed lowering loan requirements and interest rates on home loans to ridiculous levels to create a economic boom totally built on credit, and 2) the federal government encouraging the exodus of high paying technological and manufacturing jobs and businesses. The lost of manufacturing, technology, and financial industry jobs, along with all of the many jobs and businesses that serve and that are interrelated and interdependent with them, have led to the critical economic bust. If Americans had money in our pockets we could pay the mortgages. If we were allowed to save money tax free and keep more of our money, we would have a nestegg to fallback on during short economic downturns. The lack of jobs that pay high wages and savings is the main issue of the housing crisis, not the loan payments.
The US government has only one mandate as stated in the US Constitution and it is to insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity. The evidence of a drastic and blatant shift of political priorities is that in the view of obvious critical economic and social issues that will have a crushing negative effect on the lives of the American people, there is not a voice heard from any politician, certainly not any of the current Presidential candidates, of any real, substantive, blunt, and comprehensive solution that will insure our domestic tranquility, our common defence, promote our general Welfare, nor secure the blessings of liberties to ourselves nor our children. Is this the Bush's, Clinton's, and other power elite's accepted collateral expense?
Franklin D. Roosevelt prophetically stated that, "The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it comes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism - ownership of government by an individual, by a group,"
America is one of the richest countries in natural resources and unmatched in our wealth of ingenuity and things that can be accomplished due to our stated freedoms and liberties, via the US Constitution, that generations of people have fled their home countries to our shores. Our natural resources of natural gas, coal, oil, nuclear are under-utilized and our human resources driven by the ability to reach for the stars and hit the moon, not limited by counter-productive government restrictions are unrealized. America is the richest nation because we have freedom as our birthright and foundation that makes anything that we set our minds to achievable. We just have to start acting like it - before it is too late.

Post a CommentUpdate: It seems as if the surveillance has stopped or grown distant but now, things are a little too
quiet. However, even top astrologers say that when fascism arrives, it will be very subtle like right now, I
believe a bill just passed (or is about to pass) that authorizes certain officials to spy on Americans through
their telephone lines. If you get a chance, watch this movie called The Lives of Others. It's about how
fascism arose in post-World War II Germany and it's frightening to see how power, when placed in the
wrong hands, can be used to brutalize and terrorize innocent people.
Your article is very poignant. As a human rights activist, I am very very worried about the direction this country
is going in. I believe that fascism is coming in very very slowly but it's definitely upon us. I wouldn't though just
be worried about this but also about the fat hysteria in this country too. Unfortunately, as I have been the victim
of death threats, phone tampering, email tampering and other crazy things, I don't think this is going away
anytime soon. It's sad that criticism of the Iraq War brings survillance and not discussion.
I do appreciate you taking the time to read my article and respond to it. But, first just because the president say or do something does not make it Constitutional. That is why the framers place the final determinate the American people to hold the US politicians to their oaths to uphold and protect the Constitution. But, if we don't take the responsibility to read and comprehend the Constitution then they can freely usurp and defame it without real penalty. And secondly, a resolution is not the same a declaration, look up the definitions, as well as find where in the Constitution the Congress has the right or authority to send America's sons and daughters into conflict with a resolution of war? I do appreciate yours service in the US military, but if you were to read the Constitution that you too have sworn an oath to uphold and protect than you may have a truer understand of Constitutionality. Besides you didn't raise one issue with the basis of my article, fascism.
