After serving his prison time, home confinement, and a lengthy NFL suspension, Vick was able to land a second string quarterback position with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now that Donavan McNabb has moved on, there may be some question as to whether Michael Vick should be the starting quarterback over first stringer Kevin Kolb.
For Philadelphia Eagles fans, Michael Vick's redemption may be a little closer at hand as he nearly lead a second half comeback for the Eagles against the Green Bay Packers.
In the Eagles game against the Green Bay Packers, Michael Vick came in and replaced a struggling Kevin Kolb as the first half closed. Kolb experienced a concussion when he was pulled down to the turf. Kolb finished the half completing 5 passes in 10 attempts. Kolb threw for a paltry 24 yards.

Although the Eagles ultimately lost the game, Vick seemed to breathe new life into the Eagles in the second half. Vick still has not lost his ability to avoid the rush, and was able to outrun Green Bay on numerous occasions, turning negative yardage into first downs. Vick completed the half completing 16 passes in 24 attempts, gaining 175 yards. Michael Vick also rushed for 103 yards in 11 carries, adding an entirely new dimension to the Eagles offense.
Yet on the final possession, Vick came up short on a fourth down short yardage rush, which was the Eagles last chance at coming away with a win.
Questions are going to start flying around Philadelphia fan circles as to whether Michael Vick be the starter over Kevin Kolb. Vick clearly improved the offensive attack of the Eagles as he entered the second half. In the second half the Eagles outscored 17 to 14. He also display much of the athletic talent that he possessed as a three time Pro Bowl quarterback when he played at Atlanta.
If he keeps performing at this high level, will NFL fans be ready to forgive Michael Vick?

Post a CommentNO! My children will never wear NFL merchandise, nor will I support an organization that endorses people such as Michael Vick. He may have gone to jail, but that does not mean he has been reformed. I have read his many excuses for what he did and they are pathetic. I know that in my line of work where we don't get paid millions, he would not be able to get a job.
