Has OK Magazine Gone Too Far by Suggesting Kendra Wilkinson's Son is Dead?

Kendra Wilkinson Lost Her Baby, According to Celebrity Magazine

Has OK! Magazine gone way too far with its latest issue, in which its cover strongly suggests that Kendra Wilkinson has lost her baby?

Kendra Wilkinson, who made news earlier this year when a sex tape she starred in was released, and who is the star of her own reality show, has a one year old baby boy with NFL player Hank Baskett. Baskett was traded earlier this year from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Minnesota Vikings. In the process, Baskett moved to Minnesota, while Wilkinson moved from Philadelphia to Los Angeles to continue starring in her reality show, Kendra.

While occasional but persistent rumors have arisen that Wilkinson and Baskett are going to get divorced, the couple is still married. Kendra Wilkinson, in fact, has discussed how the two of them enjoy Skype sex when they are apart.

Life apart for the couple is difficult, though, Skype sex or no Skype sex. One of the most obvious challenges is the fact that their son cannot be in both places at once and is, by definition, separated from one parent or the other at any given time, especially during the football season.

OK! Magazine's latest issue features a lead story that discusses how difficult it is for Wilkinson to live apart from her husband and son as her son is currently living with his father in Minnesota.

But rather than presenting the story as it really is, OK! Magazine worded the headline in such a way as to suggest that Kendra's baby is dead. By any reasonable measure, when somebody says that a person has "lost her baby", it means something very tragic and sad. Going a step further, OK! Magazine calls it "tragic news" and shows a picture of Kendra Wilkinson crying.

Celebrity magazines are notorious for stretching the truth and positioning stories in such a way as to generate 'buzz' and increase newsstand sales. In many ways, those buying the magazines and those interested in these types of stories realize that reporting that is something short of entirely credible is simply part of the deal. When the stories have to do with adult relationships, sexual scandals or celebrity substance abuse problems, it's simply one kind of offensive.

But suggesting that Kendra Wilkinson's baby is dead seems to be beyond the pale.

When will enough be enough? Is it fair to this child that he grows up with magazines trying to drive sales by putting his picture up on the cover, calling it tragic news, and saying that his mother 'lost' him, when, in fact, he's simply living with his father?

Kendra Wilkinson's son at the present time is too young to know better. But the same cannot be said for Kendra Wilkinson and OK! Magazine.

yea, thats crazy! How dare they put that on the front cover. If kendra had anything to do with it, thats even worse.I would never put anything like that in the news about a baby. Sales or no sales.I really thought little Hank was dead....I love kendra and hank. They are a great couple, beautiful baby. But that was pretty low even for Kendra. I also read that she had a miscarriage... is that even true?????? somebody let me no the real scoop on this story.

Baskett is a bum, and will soon be out of the league. This trash "Kendra" broad is also a bum of a different kind, and hopefully will not take up space on a tv network very much longer.

The cover is horrible. I saw it at Borders today and I really thought her son died.

Who cares? People can read inside and find out what's actually going on.

In today's society "Big Business" will do anything to make a sale. Even sell their own mother. It's a disgrace, but more so a shame that people buy into this garbage. And everyone wonders why our children are being "dumbed down". Great article!

Honestly when I read it, I thought she was pregnant again and had a miscarriage or something... but yeah I'm glad they're ok....And in regards to OK! magazine, they will continue to write their garbage as long as we keep buying it.... so what do you say? Let's boycott OK!

OK! is not okay. It's a worthless, sensationalist rag... No, that is giving it too high a rating...

I liked how you took a moral slant on this topic.
