The recall has not only placed fear into the manufacturer's but also into the parents. You do not know what to purchase for your young children. Yes, they do have the toy recall list, which has been a start and a big help. However you must entertain these questions. Have they really included all the toys on the list that have been contaminated with lead? Will they come back two months from now and list the toys that you have purchased for your children two months ago? This really does make you think.
I'm a parent of three children. I'm very fortunate that I do not have to buy for small children, but my heart really goes out to the parents and guardians that have too. Yes, this recall list have not only impacted Christmas but everyday giving in general.
I must admit that we as Americans are just as much to blame, by taking the jobs from America to go over seas. We are looking for the cheap way out and so are the over seas companies. We say we are trying to keep the cost down, guess what? so are they. Now we have found out the hard way cheaper is not always better. We have found out at the expense of our own children. It is not worth it when it jeopardizes the lives and health of our children. The price is too high. Yes, the recall will affect us, but maybe we will stay in our own front yard.
Making the toys in America will cost a little more, but at least we will know that they are safe, they meet our guidelines and our children will be able to play with them without getting sick.
So, now you ask what about now? What do I purchase now? It would be great to purchase books and read to your children and allow your children to read to you. Purchase mathematical cards that will help your children with their math skills. Purchase educational videos. Even though the recall list is in effect you can still purchase items for your child that will help them learn while they are having fun.
