Do you hate the cold weather? Do you love traveling? Here are the top five places to take a winter holiday vacation if you hate the idea of cold weather and snow and love the idea of balmy weather and fun in the hot sun.

Scottsdale, Arizona - The Living Desert

The average high temperature here during the 'winter' months is 70 degrees. Now this is a place to relax in the sun! There are plenty of resorts to stay at, including the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort (packages around $400-600 per night for a family), and the FireSky Resort and Spa (Romantic Getaway packages at $224 per night). On a budget? Stay at any area hotel and simply walk Old Town Scottsdale during the sunny days for some great shopping and sightseeing.

Los Cabos, Mexico

Ready for the beach? Here the average high temperature is in the mid-70s. You can get an all-inclusive vacation package at the elite Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas for approximately $250 per person, per day. Or, stay at a place on the beach and just relax each day, walking, shopping, and sunning.

Hawaii

The ever-popular Hawaii -- snorkeling, helicopter tours, museums, and a plethora of beaches! A moderate hotel is around $160 per night in Hawaii. You can simply hang out at the (free) beaches every day and have a low-cost beautiful vacation, or you can do all the activities available. There is snorkeling, surfing, dinner cruises, helicopter tours, and much more. Don't care about cost? Stay at a bungalow on the beach at the Four Seasons Resort on the Island of Hawaii. Costs range from $735 - $975 per night for two people. The resort features open-air dining, an oceanfront golf course, a cultural center with crafts, dance, and music, swimming pools, and a great spa.

Anna Maria Island, Florida

Located between Tampa Bay & the Gulf, this island has it all for a perfect sunny winter vacation. There are three unique cities within the island, and a trolley system to get you from one to the other. White sand beaches stretch across 7 miles along the gulf coastline. What do to? Shopping, antiques, art festivals, award-winning restaurants, and day trips to other attractions such as Disney World. The vacation home rentals can sleep up to 6 or 8 people, and costs range from $1595 per week to more than $3500.

Galveston, TX

Big-city fun is 45 minutes away, while beach-front activities and restaurants are right there! Go sailing in Galveston Bay, take a tour of the NASA Space Center, visit the Children's Museum in Houston - No matter your interests, there's lots to do! In Galveston alone, there are 14 museums and 20 art galleries. Rent a vacation home, or stay at a resort or hotel right on the water. Stay at the Casa Del Mar Beachfront Suites for around $175 per night for a great experience on the Gulf coast!

No matter where you choose to have your fun in the sun, be sure to relax and eat well! (Your diet can take a vacation, too!)
