Hate Group Plans Protest at Youngest Lane Bryant Murder Victim's Funeral!

The motive, according to police, was robbery.
The killer is still on the loose.
This Saturday, Sarah T. Szafranski, will be buried.
She was the youngest of the victims, at 22 years old. She had her life in front of her, a boyfriend she loved, a future.

Now, a group of loathsome people who call themselves "Christians", plan to picket her funeral.
The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), Topeka, Kansas, whose web site is www.godhates fags.com, plans to cross the state of Missouri and come into Illinois and into my community to picket at this young woman's funeral mass. These disgusting morons have posted her funeral times on the picket calendar.
This small group of haters, headed by Fred Phelps, has made a dubious name for itself by picketing at the funerals of soldiers killed in the Iraq War.
What is their motivation for showing up hundreds of miles from their den of hate to further torture Szafranski's' relatives? Is it because Sarah was a lesbian? Because she was a sinner in their eyes? No! It's because Lane Bryant supposedly sells clothes to transvestites and transexuals. How they know this, who can say? Why not picket Wall-mart or Sears too? And anybody who happens to drop dead of a heart attack there, or who worked there and died. Who tracks where people buy clothes?
I am not an activist, but I do plan on going to bear witness at Sarah T. Szafranski's' funeral that these and their ilk are not welcome here.
I plan to leave a message at their website, where they encourage comments, that they should think twice about coming into the area.
Perhaps others will too.
This ain't Kansas anymore. This is the big city. We get pissed.

Post a CommentIn response to the part of the article saying "This isn't Kansas anymore", being from Kansas, i would like to say they are just as despised here as they are everywhere else. Do not judge Kansans because we are unfortunate enough to have their group in our state!
As it turned out I did go there, and the police were setting up barricades to keep anybody away. I did not see them.

You won't be alone tomorrow in letting them know they ARE NOT WELCOME. I will be there -- as will several friends.
They can actually do this? If they have a problem with the store tell them to fly to Pennsylvania to the corporate office and pickett them. They should not take advantage of death to support their cause. I hope the police will be there to stop them before they even get close. Let her family mourn in peace! Why don't they use their efforts to help police capture the MURDERER!!!
