Franklin County, Apalachicola, Florida
At the Gibson Inn, many reports of a male apparition materializing in front of employees have been made. Also, many claim to have heard footsteps where there was no other person who could've made them, a piano being played in the bar by some unseen fingers, blankets being pulled off of guests in the middle of the night, personal items being moved or hidden, the feeling of being watched and the list goes on! This apparition is a busy one. He is believed to be the spirit of a sea Captain who died in the building of pneumonia over a century ago.
Miami-Dade County, Coral Gables, Florida
At the Biltmore Hotel an apparition dressed in a wedding gown has been seen on one of the floors. On another floor there have been reports of soldier's apparitions. This building is also riddled with unexplained noises, items moving without the help of the living, lights going on and off on their own and elevators going up and down to floors that are not in use.
Orange County, Winter Park, Florida
The Annie Russell Theatre is allegedly haunted by its namesake. Annie has been reported to appear in solid form and has been seen and even spoken to several of the theatres patrons. Annie was also reported to have called an ambulance for maintenance man who fell from a ladder while working on the theatre light grid. Apparently another employee came in a found him and they called 911. The emergency operator informed them that the incident had already been reported and the ambulance had been dispatched. Upon hanging the phone up, the ambulance arrived! There was no other living being in the place at the time! Some other occurrences in this theatre include seats being pulled up or down when no one was sitting there and clapping has been heard coming from empty seating areas.
St. John's County, St. Augustine, Florida
At the old jail in Saint Augustine, many tour guides and visitors have reported hearing the sounds of shuffling feet; as if someone were shackled and trying to walk. Others have claimed to smell the odor of unwashed bodies. Cold spots have also been experienced here, as well as, the apparitions of a few male ghosts making themselves visible to the living.
St. Lucie County, Fort Pierce, Florida
In the Fort Pierce antique store, the scent of cigar smoke can be detected on the second floor quite frequently, even though there is no living person smoking there. Also, at the Fort Pierce Pace Center for Girls, many have heard the sounds of some unseen woman crying out in pain. No one has ever seen this female apparition but she is said to play with the lights and many girls have complained of feeling nauseous upon entering the building but then fine when they leave.
So, I ask you again, do you believe in ghosts?
