There is a stone jail house in the town that is estimated to be about 200 or more years old. There is a cemetery close by the jail house it is small and has a few above ground crypts. In the cemetery there are tales of a cat that haunts there. He appears out of nowhere and then disappears just as fast. Some say that he is the keeper of the cemetery.
Federal Hill Cemetery- Home to John Rowan's moving gravestone. John Rowan was a very prominent man. He was sick as a child but that did not stop him from growing into a very successful adult. He became a lawyer then a State judge in Kentucky. He lived in a mansion called Federal Hill and you can take tours of it by appointment today. When he died his request was to be buried without a headstone, because his parents had not been buried with one. His family thinking he deserved a headstone because of his remarkable life did not follow his wishes and buried him with one anyway. Throughout the years his headstone has fallen over numerous times and had to be replaced. The story is that John Rowan is unsatisfied with the headstone because it went against his wishes and that is why it keeps getting knocked over.
Old Kentucky Home Middle School- The school was once used as a hospital in civil war times. The morgue was also located there. There have been rumors that the walls would bleed, and even after painting them the red blood would show back up. Also strange odors are reported there as well.
Old Bardstown Village- This historic site features cabins that date back hundreds of years to the civil war, and are rumored to have quite a few ghostly sightings. There are also museums that hold very interesting and intriguing information.
Talbott Tavern- This was originally a Stage coach stop that had quite the famous visitors including Frank and Jesse James and Abraham Lincoln. It is now called Talbott Bed and Breakfast or Old Talbot tavern as listed on their website. This is rumored to have Jesse James ghost and a mysterious woman haunts this place as well. There are bullet holes in the walls and an air of mystery surrounds this historic site.
Jailers Inn- This old jail is located next to the Talbott Tavern, and was a jail until the 90's. This jail was the site of many executions by hanging, and hanging on the wall in the Tavern is the mask worn on the last execution held in the jail. Lots of reports surrounding this place of ghostly experiences.
For those of you that love historic places and the paranormal this town is definitely one I would stop in on.

My experiences in that trailer will haunt me till the day i die. Upon entering it seemed fine, creepy but non-dangerous. I was wrong. As i entered the living room my whole entire body got cold as ice. and i got the goose bumps. My neice is experienced in the paranormal activities and she saw ghostly appirations and her rosary spun around on her neck and choked her so tight that her neck was red and it felt like it was on fire. True Story. We went tonight.
