Get Your Socks Scared Off of You when You Figure Out Who Has the Best Haunted House Around Albuquerque!

Are you looking for a spooky good time around Albuquerque? Do you like to be scared out of your socks and then laugh about it later how scared you were?

Then get ready for some great fun! It is that time of year once again! Time to find the best of the best Haunted Houses.

Since many of us are still feeling the pocket crunch of the economy, it is always nice when you can find the Haunted Houses that are free or low cost. So, to help get you started, we will start off with the low cost fun and then hit your pocket book a little harder if you are the "hard core" seeker.

Many civic organizations like to put on Haunted Houses for the kids which is great, you can actually check with the city offices for information. Usually you don't hear about them, until the beginning of October. They like to keep everyone in suspense until it is time.

Always check your local paper for upcoming community events, it is a great place to find out when the "free" haunted houses will be available. Usually, this information can be located in the Community Calendar. Or keep the eyes open for announcements on the local news channels. Channel 7 and Channel 13 are pretty good about giving out the information on Community Events.

Perry Meadows Haunt in Rio Rancho. However, their schedule has not been listed for Halloween 2009. The tour not only includes a Haunted House but full grave yard as well. For more information visit their website. Perry Meadows helps with the canned food drive each year so give a hand and bring some canned goods with you.

One of the most well known Haunts of Albuquerque is actually in Moriarty it is McCall's. This local farm attracts thousands of people each year for the pumpkin patch and the fun corn maze. But, what many people don't know about is the Haunted House. Not only is it fun for the kids but for the grown-ups as well.

The fun begins at McCall's the first weekend of October. Beginning the 2-3 you can purchase tickets for $14 for the barn and the corn field. Or $10 if you only want to visit one of the attractions. If you decide to wait later in the month, the prices do go up. Starting October 16, admission will be $18 for both haunted areas and $12 if you decide to choose between the two. Don't forget to check out the hay rides and all the other exciting adventures that can be found at McCall's. You won't be disappointed. The hours for McCall's are Friday 7pm-10pm and Saturday 6pm-10pm. During the week you can visit during the day to pick out your pumpkin. They also offer tours for the schools in the area. So if you have recently moved to Albuquerque, your kids are in for a fun treat.

One area that many don't know about are the haunts of Old Town Albuquerque. During the fall season it is said that the ghosts come out more because of the cooler temperatures. No one knows for certain, but if you are curious and want to check it out, there is a lot to see. There are well over 300 years of documented history about things that have happened in Old Town Albuquerque, some will raise the hairs on the back of your neck.

You will have to make reservations to take the tours that begin at 8:00pm every evening. Ticket prices are: Adults $20, Kids 6-12 $10, Seniors 55 and up $18, College and military with ID $18, Students 13-17 $16 and if you bring a child that is under the age of 6 they are free. The tours usually last about 90 minutes. There are few different tours that you can venture one being a full paranormal experience where you are educated on how to read equipment, visit specific locations that do have ghosts that have been seen and more. Primitive Fear is one Haunted House that gets enjoyed by a lot of people. The Haunts begin the last week of September. Located at 6600 Menaul Blvd. You can either check their website or give them a call for dates and times. They can be reached at 505-872-3327. Admission is $13 per person.

Forever Haunted located at 12931 Indian School is another that is sure to scare your socks off. Doors open around the middle of October. Admission is $6, you can call for additional information at 505-237-1544.

Southwest Ghost Hunter's Association hosts an event each year. Be sure to keep an ear open for Halloween 2009. They are sure to have one of the most exciting events around.
