Colorado Springs is a mid size city that offers Halloween fun the size of any big city. Halloween is serious business in Colorado Springs each year. The standouts of fright and fun, that are also my favorites are below. One of the most exciting and ghoulish haunted houses in the Colorado Springs area, is Mind Seizure. This wonderful Halloween spot is located at the Flea Market grounds on Platte Ave, near Powers.

According to the website at www.mindseizure.com: "The Mind Seizure Haunted House is an intense interactive theatrical production that combines high-tech props, sound, and special lighting effects with live actors and quality sets, costumes, and make-up to create uniquely terrifying Halloween entertainment. It is Colorado Springs oldest and most intense haunted house."
Mind Seizure is open on the following dates:
Sept 24,25,26
Sept 30
Oct 1,2,3
Oct 7,8,9,
Oct 14,15,16,17
Oct 21,22, 23, 24, 25,26,27,28,29,30,31

Weekdays from 7pm to 10pm | Fridays and Saturdays 7pm - 11pm. Cost is $15.00 per person for all ages. VP admission is $20.00 and comes with perks. They also have laser tag by appointment for $25.00. Mind Seizure is absolutely the prime place to get your scare on in Colorado Springs.

If you are looking for a milder scare, maybe for the younger crowd or if you are just not into a fierce, scary experience, check out Boo At The Zoo. This is probably the most fun for families with small children. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo lights up in the spirit of Halloween each year.

There are numerous events geared toward family activities. Here are a few. A Haunted fun house and ghoulish graveyard, animal encounters with shows education specialist, Trick-or-treat at more than 20 spooky treat stations, a creepy bat cave,a lighted pumpkin path, the fun, Boo Carousel and animal exhibits staying open such as the Lions, giraffes, hippos and Monkeys.

The Zoo is open from 5:30 pm till 8:30 pm,Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 22-24 and 29-31, 2010. Price to get in is $15 for ages 3-65, $ 9 for Zoo members, $13 Military and over 65 Senior Discount.

Both venues are great and will full fill all of your Halloween scare needs or give the kids a chance to Trick or Treat safely.

    Oooh.. I'd go for the zoo every time. :oD And $15 is a good deal for admission fee, too. Here in San Diego they charge $38. :o(
