Oakridge Cemetery is supposed to be haunted. Aren't all cemeteries supposed to be haunted? I would think so but I have read that Oakridge is supposed to be an area local haunt. The Bashor Monument pictured here is supposed to cry tears of blood. I feverishly visited it and was very disappointed to see that she, the angel monument, did not have any bloody tears on her face. I thought well maybe it is was not the right time of year. Maybe she only cries tears of blood on say Halloween? Maybe it is the death date of Michael Bashor for whom the monument was erected in his honor?
I thought maybe it was just rust stains on the face, the monument is cement. No rust on the face either. I even brought the photo home, uploaded, or downloaded, (I get those mixed up) it on my computer. I zoomed in and still no tears of blood. I was very disappointed. She was a bit creepy though staring at me through my computer screen. I thought maybe all of a sudden that they would magically appear. No such luck.
Every time that we walk in the Oakridge Cemetery I visit the monument hoping for just one little tear of blood. I would like to know who the moron was that started this rumor about the monument crying tears of blood. I suppose it just proves that you can't believe everything that you read on the Internet. I bet that moron wonders what kind of moron actually believes that the monument really cries tears of blood. That said moron spends time trying to catch the monument crying real tears of blood too.
I have researched other haunted places in the area and have heard that those disturbances are real. I have never actually seen a ghost but have had supernatural experiences. I really didn't think that it was asking too much to be able to just see this one little thing.
I have heard that it is true that there are supernatural experiences in the Mishawaka Hacienda restaurant. I have talked to those who have had supernatural experiences in the Winchester Mansion in Elkhart also. I have friends that live in a haunted house in the area. It seems that some of these ghosts still like to cook. Unfortunately there is no actual food. My friends have bolted downstairs hopefully when they smell bacon frying and hear cupboard doors open and shut, to find no one has got up early to make breakfast.
Oh well I will just go back to my boring, ordinary life and maybe someday I will get to see a real manifestation of bloody tears. But then again I don't think I really want to see anything. Fantasizing about it is more fun.

Post a CommentYou and I went out there and didn't get to see the tears of blood, and it was disappointing, but it is still an interesting cemetary. Maybe we should go out there at night sometime! Can you imagine that? *lol*
Great article. I have never heard of this before but I'd love to see it.
Ditto Patricia - half of me does and half of me would be totally freaked out!
Loved your article :-)
Half of me wants to experience a ghost and the other half doesn't. It would really cause me to question my existence. I have experienced some weird things, tho, at my brother's old home.
Fascinating! I don't know if I want to see the tears of blood or not. Very intriguing.
There is a monument similar to this one in a cemetery here in RI and I also have a picture of it. The stains on the face of the statue do make it look as if it has been crying but to my knowledge there are not rumors of blood tears. Though your article is making me wonder if there is a story behind that particular monument.
I would love to visit this cemetery I love this kind of thing. thanks
I think I'd be happy I hadn't seen the bloody tears.
