Hauntings In The Virginia Beach/Norfolk Virginia Area

Living in one of the most historical states in the country, Virginia has plenty of places that are frequented by ghosts. In fact here in the seven cities there are quite a few and being a long time resident of Virginia, I have experienced some of it myself. Edgar Cayce thought Virginia Beach was so rich and vibrant with souls of the dead; he built his home right in front of the beach where his meditation room overlooked the Ocean. The museum still remains for tourists and in addition there is a University of Parapsychology. I have never experienced anything at this location other than an enormous amount of peace and tranquility.

However, only blocks away is the Cavalier Hotel located on 42^nd Street and the Oceanfront, which is a big huge beautiful hotel that dates back to the early 19^th century. My 10 year high school reunion was held here and there were several reports of a stray cat that was lose in the building. Come to find out, this cat is a permanent resident. Also, if you happen to check into the hotel, take note of the towels that you receive because they are magical and will change colors when you least expect it.

One haunted place that is very close to where I live is called the Page House Inn in Norfolk, Virginia. The Page House, circa 1899, is a beautiful bed and breakfast located by the Chrysler Hall Museum of Art. It is said that the inn keeper's mother is still residing there and every now and again she will make her presence known by opening and shutting the door on her china cabinet that is located in the dining room. I have never personally visited this location but would love too.

For more scary locations, a 45 minute ride on I-64 will bring you into Williamsburg, Virginia that is said to be the most "live" action of ghost activity courtesy of our Jamestown settlers, slaves, Indians, and soldiers who fought on the battlegrounds.
