Most people choose colors like red and green for the holidays, because that best describes Christmas. However, for your wedding you don't have to stick to just green and red. Throw some silver and white in there, or maybe even a light blue. You might try adding some darker themed colors into your decorations like burgundy, forest green, and gold.
When designing your invitations you might think of Christmas trees and Santa Claus's, but you could also get away with bells and doves. Try using gingerbread man who may be getting married, something like that. I think that would be nicely themed for a Christmas wedding.
Planning the food will be a piece of cake, fruit cake that it! Everyone loves a slice of fruit cake after Christmas Dinner. What better way to spend time with your family then to get married and then have a perfect Christmas Dinner as your reception. Then pies, cakes, fudge and even fig pudding to! Why stop there, go ahead and have your primary cake also. It's Christmas Day and it's your wedding day. You can loose those extra pounds on your honeymoon... ;)
Speaking of your honeymoon, why not hit up the slopes. I think that would just make the whole wedding conclusion not only romantic but beautiful. You don't have to leave your family on Christmas Day; plan to leave the day after Christmas. That way you can open both your Christmas presents and your wedding presents. Who doesn't love double presents?
It sounds so wonderful; I think I might try for a Christmas wedding. There are many types of weddings to fit everyone's personality. If you are gothic, there are even gothic style weddings. It's not all about white and purity anymore, so get out there and make your dream come true. I love weddings very much and these beautifully themed weddings are the best. No matter how you get married make the best to make it last.
