The first step is to avoid doing anything that will cause your face to break out right before your wedding. Since stress is often a factor in breakouts, try to stay calm, even if that seems nearly impossible. Drinking plenty of water will help keep the toxins flushed out of your body so zits won't be as likely to appear.
Eating healthy might seem an impossibility in the week or so before the wedding, but resist the urge to subsist on junk food alone. In fact, this is when super healthy food should be making up your diet. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables will help keep your skin healthy and bright.
You will want to be cleansing your skin as well before the wedding. This doesn't have to be a complicated routine, simply washing with soap and water each morning and every night is a good start. Apply a moisturizer around the eyes and mouth before you go to sleep, or even over your entire face if you have dry skin. And don't forget your hands; they need regular moisturizing lotion as well!
Should a zit appear in the day or two before your wedding, apply a zit-zapper like Clearasil to it before you go to sleep and the appearance should be greatly reduced by morning. You will be able to cover it up with concealer on your wedding day if you treat it early.
Give yourself a facial massage every morning when you wake up. Use the tips of your fingers to gently massage your face. This promotes blood flow to the area and is a good way to get that new bride glow! You may also wish to do a firming facial mask a day before the big event. Don't do anything drastic in the last week, like a chemical peel, since the results may not be ready for public display by the time you're walking down the aisle.
Finally, the day of your wedding, have a professional apply your makeup to get the most natural look possible. Allowing your real skin to show through just enhances the look and you will be stunning as you walk down the aisle and at the reception. As the bride, you deserve to look incredible on your wedding day and the simple tips above will help you achieve that goal.
