Have a Cartoon Character Birthday Party Without Breaking the Bank!

Every child wants to celebrate their birthday with their favorite cartoon character! From Angelina Ballerina to X-men, you can find just about any character on a paper plate in your local party supply store, but they are so expensive! How can you give them the party they want without it breaking the bank?

Below are a couple tips and suggestions, as well as a few places online to buy your party supplies at severe discounts!

Figure out exactly what you need and write a list!

I always find if I am shopping for party supplies without a list, I end up buying a lot more than what we really need.

Plates (Snack Plates & Cake Plates)
Cups
Napkins
Plastic Silverware
Goody Bags
Games
Piñata

These are just a few of the things you will need, I am sure you will think of more!

TIP ~ Rather than purchasing 20 plates with the character on it, buy only 10 and then buy 10 featuring a coordinating color. The solid color plates are a lot cheaper than the character plates! Do the same with the cups and napkins, you will save at least ten dollars by doing it this way!

Don't go to the Party Supply Store!

The dollar store is so much cheaper, after all it is only a buck! Most dollar stores carry a whole line of party supplies! Last year my daughter wanted an Elmo party and I found plates, cups and napkins, as well as a table cloth and goody bags at my local Dollar Tree.

TIP ~ Buy the candy and mini toys for the goody bags at the dollar store too! This will save at least another five dollars!

Shop Online!

There are numerous places online to buy party supplies and you are sure to find them MUCH cheaper than at your local party store! I have bought supplies from Oriental Trading and Dollar Days.com numerous times for less than I've seen them for in the store. Of Course don't forget eBay! Most people have extra supplies after the party is over, what better place to sell them? Some sellers even have complete packages for sale, including the supplies you will need plus more!

The main thing to remember is to shop around! Don't just go to your local party supply store because it's easy, especially if you can't afford it! You can save so much money if you just take the time to shop around!
