Have Fun with These Birthday Party Games

Harold Dean Sink
When you are planning out a birthday party, don't forget to have some games for everyone to be involved in. You will notice at almost any birthday party that there is at least one person who doesn't seem quite sure of interacting with others. Having birthday party games is a plus at any birthday party.

Orange Pass

This is a fun one for any age. Starting with any one person, you have to use your neck and chin to pass the orange onto the next person. No hands are allowed when playing this birthday party game. The next person has to maneuver their neck and chin to grasp the orange from them, and pass it onto the next person. When the orange is dropped the one trying to retreive it is out, and then you can either start all over again or just end the game at that point. This birthday party game is simple and not very rule binding, just remember...don't use your hands.

Balloon Pop!

This is fun, too. With non-helium filled balloons, each person ties one around either their left or right leg. Have the strand of string no longer than 30". The next step in this birthday party game is to run around and stomp out the other's balloons. The last person with their balloon unpopped wins. You can hand out a grab bag of candy for this or whatever you chose to give out for this birthday party game.

Mummy Wrap

This is not as popular as the other two, but Mummy Wrap can be a fun birthday party game if nobody is clausterphobic. You team up in pairs, and one person gets a roll or rolls of toilet paper. This is a timed birthday party game. You pick the time length, and see how quickly each wrapper can wrap their teammate with toilet paper without tearing it. The other object is to completely wrap the person in toilet paper. The first team to accomplish this feat obviously wins at this birthday party game.

Musical Chairs

Musical Chairs has always been a fun game at birthday parties. You need enough chairs for all but one person and some music that you can start and stop at any moment. Everyone stands up around the chairs and walks in a cirlce as the music starts. Once the music stops you have to scramble to get a chair. The one person who doesn't get a chair is out. When the music starts up again, a chair is removed. This birthday party game continues until there is only one chair left.

Pin the Tail on The Donkey

This classic game, Pin the tail on the donkey, has been around for a long time. You blindfold a person, turn them around a few times, and they have to pin their tail on the donkey. We use tape so that pins don't accidentally get stuck in someone. After everyone has tried this, the person with the closest tail to where it should be wins. This birthday party game can be lots of fun.

When choosing a birthday party game you don't have to limit yourself to these. If you have a theme for the birthday party, make up some games around that theme. You may stumble upon something that could be passed onto someone else that would be fun for them to use. Be creative, and have fun.
