Have a Great Stay at the Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Kimberly Mae
I have been taking my mom almost every year to Myrtle Beach since 1998. It's become a wonderful mother and daughter tradition. Our favorite place to stay is the Landmark Resort. One reason we love the Landmark Resort is the incredible rates we get. We go sometime between October and December. Because that is considered the off season there, the rates drop drastically. You can get an oceanfront suite that is usually $200 or more in the peak season for $50 - $60. What a deal! Their suites have a bedroom with either a king-sized bed or two double beds, a kitchenette that is fully equipped with dishes, cookware, microwave, stove and refrigerator, a bathroom which can be upgraded to a bath and a half, and a living room with a Murphy bed. We have always found the rooms to be clean and the staff friendly. The view from the balcony is spectacular since you are right on the ocean. There is nothing more relaxing that listening to the waves rolling in.

Another reason why the Landmark Resort is a great place to stay is the many pools the property has, both indoor and outdoor, the spas, and the water park. The Landmark Resort also has one of the largest Lazy River Rides ever. Both the inside and outside Lazy River Rides are 300 feet long each, surrounded by lush, tropical foliage. The inside pool has a fountain in the middle of it, which adds to the ambiance of the property. There are several spas to relax in, both inside and out. One of them has a waterfall. What I appreciate also is that guests don't have to go outside to access the indoor water features like you do at some of the hotels there. I have gone in December where the average temperature is only around 50° outside but you would never know that floating in a tube in the Lazy River Ride. The Landmark Resort also features a water park and a nine-hole miniature golf course.

Lastly, the Landmark Resort is conveniently located to attractions, shopping and restaurants. The Landmark Resort is located on South Ocean Boulevard. Further down Ocean Blvd is Damon's Grill, with ocean-front seating. They have early bird specials that can save you money. I especially like the baby back ribs. Another favorite restaurant of mine, because of the early bird specials, is the Key West Grill, located at Broadway at the Beach. I always get the prime rib for $9.99. The restaurant is located on the lake at Broadway at the Beach, and one can dine on the patio, watching the water taxi go by. Then you can take a leisurely stroll along the lake, stopping to feed the fish and ducks that will flock to you to be fed. The lake is the center of a variety of shops and attractions, including Ripley's Aquarium. You can actually walk under a tank of sharks and feel like you are in the ocean.
