We don't see eye to eye
Did you really think that marriage would be easy? Marriage is something that you have to work towards; it isn't something that will be a bed of roses for the rest of your life. There are many of times that my husband and I don't see eye to eye but we each take the time to understand the others point of view. If you don't take the time to understand your spouses point of view then what makes you think that they will do the same for you. It isn't a game of who can scream the loudest and make the other listen, it is simply something that you both need to take the time to listen and understand each other even if you think that they are wrong.
What am I doing wrong?
The question is what are you doing right? Go ahead and get your pen and paper out and list all the things that you wished your spouse would do but doesn't and have your spouse to do the same. Take a gander at the list that the two of you have made and calmly discuss why these things are important to you and then make a compromise to them. You would be surprised at how much easier your life is when you both do some of the things that the other person wishes that you would do.
I fell off the wagon
Do you want to be in the dog house to? If you don't then you should jump back on the wagon once again. People make mistakes and we often forget and if you have forgotten something on your "honey I wish you would do" list then apologize and start over. I know that some of the things that your spouse had listed might seem silly but they probably aren't silly to this person. If you love them then you would go through all lengths to make them happy.
No matter what you do in your marriage you should always try to please this person and treat them the way that you hope to be treated. If you wanted your spouse to not argue with you then why are you arguing with them? If you would like for your spouse to listen to you then you should listen to them. Everything that you do in a relationship should be considered for the best. If you do something to mess up then you need to explain to this person why you did it and that you are sorry for doing it.
