Have a Little Caribbean Delivered to Your Door!

The kids were hungry, mom was tired and no one wanted delivery pizza except the teen age boy in the house. We started looking through the phone book for some place that would deliver. We didn't want pizza or Chinese so our choices were becoming a little bit limited. We hit upon Caribbean Soul Island Restaurant's yellow page ad. They also offered a coupon in the back. Five dollars off any dinner selection with a twenty-five dollar order. Looking their menu over we decided to give them a try. We had never eaten there before or had them delivered.

We ordered two combos, a dinner and a side of crab cakes. For the dinner we had a jerk chicken. Our combos were the Caribbean combo and the seafood combo. The ordering processes was very easy. It did take a while for the delivery, but then again it was payday so I am sure they had a lot of orders. But the food arrived hot and smelled wonderful. All the food came to forty dollars with tip. They did take our debit card as well.

The two bags that arrived felt very light and we were a bit leery when we opened them up. There was a lot of food there though. The jerk chicken was absolutely wonderful and came with potatoes that had also been cooked in the jerk seasoning. These were a hit, but there was not enough in the one dinner for everyone that wanted them. The chicken itself was also very good, as well as everything on the seafood combo. It was hard to tell the difference between all the food as it was all in one theme but it was very good.

I do have to say that the crab cakes were my favorite. At most places crab cakes are a lot of breading and little bits of crabs. This was not true with these. They were full of crab and the seasoning was wonderful. No frozen and fried crab cakes there. I really enjoyed them, but next time will order more of these for myself.

Overall the food was good, and the delivery service better than the other places around. If you are looking for something different I would definitely try them. We now would like to go into their actual restaurant and see how it is there. Hopefully it will be the same great food with a bit of atmosphere. We will have to see if we enjoy it as much.
