When you arrive at the mall, Santa is located in the center near the jewelry stores. The hours that you can expect Santa to be available is Monday through Saturday between 10am and 9pm with a one hour break at 1pm and 5pm. He is also there on Sunday between 12pm and 6pm with a one hour break at 2pm. Santa will continue to take pictures until Christmas Eve and the mall is suggesting that you arrive before 4pm so that everyone has a chance before the mall closes that night.
I would suggest going as early in the Christmas season as possible to avoid long lines. We choose right when they opened on a Sunday morning and we were the only ones there for the first 15 minutes. The staff was easy to work with and of course Santa just loves children. The staff took several pictures and we choose the best one that we liked. They seemed very patient if you were looking to get the picture just right and wanted to take a few more shots. Our daughter sat on his lap for a few minutes before we were off to the register.
Sitting on his lap is free but they do not allow any pictures taken up close. If you try to stand just outside the no camera zone your picture really won't turn out that good. There are signs, staff and photography equipment that will clutter up your shot. We choose the basic package which included 4 wallets and 2 or 3 larger pictures so we could take something home. The packaged included a $20 gift card to shutterfly that you can use to print off any picture of your choosing and a CD with the Santa photo. Expect to pay around $42 for this type of package.
We then took that picture and made our Christmas cards which really turned out well. You could use the gift card to shutterfly for this too but they are fairly expensive. We choose to use our gift card for making little photo books instead.
