Dark colored berries like black raspberries contain powerful antioxidants which may help to slow down the aging process and keep us healthier.

Red and black raspberries are high in ellegic acid, which may help prevent certain types of cancer, including stomach, colon and esophageal.

The pigment that makes blueberries blue is called anthocyanin, may help brain cells fire faster according to researchers in Boston University. Blueberries are not only a powerful antioxidant but also have been proved to preserve vision. They are also best eaten frozen, heat will break their nutrients.

Cranberries Have heart healthy compound that increase HDL which is also known as good cholesterol. There is also a chemical found in cranberries which can help keep illnesses such as ulcers and gum disease from sticking around. Berries can also be found in the frozen section of the grocery store. Once they thaw, they will not be as firm as freshly picked berries, but they will still contain all the nutritional benefits of fresh berries. So eat your berries daily to obtain all those very berry health benefits.
