Have You Sorted Out the Complex Diet Phenomenon?

There Are Alway New Things About Dieting

Wilmot Lang

There is always some new finding that defies the older-held beliefs and dieters want to lose weight without suffering any side effects or going through any unpleasant experience. If possible, they don't want to be forced to give up what they enjoy eating. The Atkins diet was popular because it encouraged dieters to do the unthinkable. According to Atkins diet, dieters can eat all the meat they crave for, any amount of fats, eggs and the like, but the taboo was they had to cut on carbohydrates to the point where their meals had to be void of it. That is a tough thing to do, but when compared with eating all the stakes, chicken, burgers, hotdogs, etc, most people had no problem voting for the Atkins diet.

There is still an ongoing debate about the main source of gaining weight. Is it consuming excess carbohydrate that triggers weight-gaining or is it the accumulated calorie that is not burned that will transform itself into fat and cause all the problems that are related with gaining weight?

The second finding makes sense because it is true that it is excess calorie that is the cause of weight gaining. Which means the Atkins diet was deceiving people because those who promoted it knew that any food that is high in protein and low in carbohydrates does not raise the level of calories. The problem kicks in when mixing both that is, foods that are high in protein and foods that have a high carbohydrates content. For example, with a sizeable stake if there is a generous serving of potato, the whole thing will defeat the purpose for various reasons. Because potato is a source of starch and if it is not burned it will easily transform itself into fat.

Therefore, the latest finding is what makes sense as far as dieters are concerned, which is controlling the calorie intake of each day so that the body will not have unused energy that it has to convert into fat, and that could be attained if it is provided exactly with what it needs in a given day. Which means, there is no such a thing as not touching carbohydrates at all, because the body needs the energy it generates from carbohydrates more than any other kinds of food items, because that particular energy is sustainable and could last for a long period, exactly what the body needs to function normally. Otherwise the body could experience fatigue, individuals could turn out to be lazy, and would not accomplish much in whatever endeavor they are involved in.

Vegetables, for example, are good to lose weight because in the first place they do not have much carbohydrate in them when compared with whole grain cereals, bread, pasta, or rice. Because they are high in texture, they could stay in the tummy for a longer period but because of their low carbohydrates level the body cannot get enough calorie out of them. Eating beans, peas, or carrot, which might have at least one-quarter carbohydrate gram per serving when compared with the other whole grain cereals, could mitigate such lack.

So, what this means is the wresting will have to focus on giving the body the exact amount of energy it needs, a wholesome meal with all the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. It's possible to eliminate the phobia created toward all food groups and people will start eating sensibly by simply watching out the amount of their calorie intake, which makes sense. It could also be fun to count the calorie of each food item they consume, and if the target is missed today, it's possible to make up for it the next day, even on the next meal.

One essential point to examine here is some the roles water plays in the body mass, because at the time of metabolizing protein, the process tends to draw more water out of the cells. Anyone on high protein diet will find out that the actual weight had gone down, but the truth of the matter is the fat level in most cases is as it is and what fluctuates while weighing oneself is the amount of water reserved by the cells.

Consuming too much salt also could have the same effect, because when there is too much sodium in the body, cells tend to hold much water around them and it takes longer for the kidney to excrete and filter the fluid in the body, and release some of it as waste. In such a situation, people could weigh more, but if they give up using sodium or the food they are eating is not loaded with salt the effect will be the same, where the cell will not hold no water and while weighing oneself it is possible to see the scale goes down, but the fat level in the body always remains intact.

To bring the fat level down there are many ways to go about it, but one of them is to control calorie intake so that the body will not have anything to store as fat. That's why some dieticians are recommending exercise because that will burn the available calorie depriving the body the excess that it would store on a daily basis, but that could become difficult over time, especially when the age progresses. Nevertheless, the method discussed here is far much better because dieters can eat what their heart desires and could change food regularly, but all they have to do is to look out for the portion that they are putting on their plates so that they won't cram in too much calorie. The method seems very simple because all it requires is to make oneself familiar with the amount of calorie each food has, and from there on to make sure that there won't be excess calorie in the body that it will convert into fat.

This will work fine for those that have already lost weight and are trying to keep it off for good. However, while shaping up into normal weight, it is possible to do some exercise so that when the body doesn't have enough calories it will start burring fat. Going without food or with a minimum amount whenever possible will also force the body to burn fat.

It is also possible to trick the body to burn fat. Normally the metabolic system programs itself in advance with past food intake experience. This means if a dieter was eating a generous portion on the previous two to three days, it will expect the same amount, and if it doesn't get similar amount of food, it has no choice other than burning fat. But the second day it will start adjusting by registering past experience and the only way of braking the stance is by deceiving it again, because it can digest excess food and converted it into fat, but when the amount it's used to is not there it will suffer a setback and that is the only time it burns fat.

Alternatively, when working on losing weight or body fat, low carbohydrate foods like vegetables and fruit with a moderate quantity are recommended, because even if the body won't be at its best energy-wise, since it is a temporary introduction it can manage. Fruits are good even if some of them could pack a lot of fructose, which is sugar and consuming fruit in a larger quantity could raise the level of calorie. But when one gets too tired while dieting, there is not better way of getting a quick energy than eating fruit, because their sugar could be converted into calorie within 30 minutes compared with other food items that take much longer time. For example, it takes the body up to eight hours to digest meat, and it gets more if there is potato to go with it.

To come to a conclusion, there will be more new things coming, but for now, with a little programming of one's diet it's possible to avoid giving the body excess calorie that it isn't capable of burning because of the kind of daily activities individuals could be involved in. The amount of calorie the body needs differs from individual to individual and to reach at the exact amount a particular body needs there are a good number of sites to choose from that would do a good calculating job, but on average women need 1500 to 2000 calories, while men could approach between 2000 to 2500 calories a day. If individuals are overweight, there are a regiment of suggestions to go through to lose the excess weight and the calorie counting could kick in to keep the fat away for good and remain lean for the rest a lifetime, which is key to prolonging the life-span of people.

  • People don't have to go without eating what they enjoy eating just to diet
  • Popular diets like Atkins might have been wrong all along
  • There are always new findingslthat are worth looking out for
The recent finding zeroes in on calorie count and makes food-eating much interesting, because there is no fear of eating any kind of food as long as it's calorie content is known in advance.
