Have You Thought About the Products You Eat

Sharon Tulley
When was the last time you really "thought" about what you ate? What if you could get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables in one nutrition bar? Sound like nutrition of the future? It's not too far off actually.

There are already a variety of natural nutrition bars made by thinkproducts that are wheat and gluton free. Let's explore them:

thinkThin

They have a high protein / low carb (2 net effective carbs) nutrition bar called thinkThin.

It comes in Creamy Peanut Butter, Chunky Peanut Butter, Chocolate Fudge, Brownie Crunch, Chocolate Mudslide, Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Raspberry and Peanut Butter Carmel.

thinkThin Pink

There are new flavors also which are part of the thinkThin pink line. According to the thinkproducts website, "from June 2007 through May 2008 thinkproducts will donate 15 cents per thinkThin Pink bar purchased at retail to Susan G. Komen for the Cure."

They come in White Chocolate Raspberry and Peanut Butter Carmel. The two new flavors are Blueberry Dark Chocolate and Lemon Burst.

Like the regular thinkThin snack bars, they are sugar free. These are good snacks for diabetics.

thinkOrganic

There's a raw fruit and nut snack bar that is both soy free and vegan at the same time. It has zero grams of transfat and is a good source of fiber. It has 2 servings of fruit based on the USDA Food Guide Pyramid.

The thinkOrganic nutrition bars come in six flavors.

They are Cherry Nut, Chocolate Coconut, Apricot Coconut, Cashew Pecan, Cranberry Apple and Tropical Nut.

thinkGreen

The nutrition bar that thinkproducts calls a "superfood" is called thinkGreen.

It contains over 1 tablespoon of greens. It's high in antioxidants and protein. It helps maintain joints, bone health, hair, and healthy skin.

It comes in four flavors:

Chocolate Chip, Cranberry Apple, Blueberry Noni, and Peanut Butter Chocolate.

thinkGreener

Lastly, the nutrition bar of the future I mentioned will be called thinkGreener. It's made with organic dates, spirulina, broccoli, and green tea.

It contains a daily supply of two fruits and three vegetables power-packed into a convenient nutrition bar.

It will come in two flavors, Red Berries and Chocolate Red Berries.

The Natural Products Expo East in Baltimore will feature the newest nutrition bar on September 26-29, 2007.

The company thinkproducts was started in Lizanne Falsetto's garage in Ventura 14 years ago. Falsetto spent several years as a fashion model when nutrition became her passion. "There's this stigma that models only smoke cigarettes and don't eat," she said, "but they know they have to keep their energy up. I learned how to respect food. I explored herbs first for nutrition and energy. And as I learned more about the power of good, real food, I discovered that I loved the whole field."
