Having Dinner at Disney

Christopher Blydenburgh
Some years ago Disney was known to have pretty bad food mostly containing of hamburger and hot dogs, but that's not the case anymore. Today you can find Cornbread Stuffed Quail with Foie Gras, 6-hour braised veal shank with orzo pasta or risotto with shrimps and many other nice dishes as well. There are lots of places to choose between when you get hungry, actually more than 270 places.

The Disney team engaged some really talented chefs to make the dining experiences a lot better in the Disney restaurants and they have succeeded for sure. There are also sommeliers to pick out the very best wines from the wine lists.

Where to find the best restaurants:

If you would like to visit a wonderful panorama of the Seven seas lagoon and Magic Kingdom you should visit the California Grill which is located at Disney's Contemporary Resort on the 15th floor. There are lots of dishes to choose between on the menu, and there is sushi as well as new american kind of food. You will be very satisfied by the wonderful desserts and by the tasty Californian wines.

If you're a big fan of seafood you should try the Flying Fish which is located at Disney's Boardwalk. You will love this amazing restaurant where you can look at mobiles with flying fishes and floors that are sparkling in a sea blue colour. The wine lost in this resaturant is excellent and in 2003 the restaurant achieved an award because of its very fine international wine list. The desserts are something extra in this restaurants and particularly the banana napoleon served with caramel sauce.

If you prefer the sophisticated style together with excellent food you will surely enjoy Victoria and Albert's which you'll find in Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. The restaurant, which is AAA five-diamond awarded will offer you a luxurious dinner with seven courses and you will be surrounded by white linen and beautiful crystal at the table. If you want to see the chef in action you might book a table in an alcove with lit candles in the kitchen. This will guarantee you a very special dining experience that you will remember for a very long time.

Another exclusive restaurant is to be found in the Epcot area. It's named Bistro de Paris and you will be served by pleasant french waiters which will give you amazingly tasty dishes made on the best, fresh ingredients. After the dinner you should try a nice dessert like for example the wonderful crepes, which you can enjoy while experiencing the sight of the Illuminations.

Another dining option is to visit Jiko, which is located at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. The windows in the restaurant reaches from the floor to the roof and you can watch the chef work since the kitchen is open. The menu offers nice dishes with inspiration from the African cuisine and on the wine list you can choose between many delicious wines from South Africa. The desserts are excellent in this restaurent and we highly recommend the dark chocolate filled beggar's purses which are served together with honey dipping sauce. This is a dessert that you will remember forever.

For you interested in food and dining Disney World is just the perfect place. Here are plenty of amazing dining possibilities to experience and you could actually spend your entire vacation in the restaurants without any problem.
