What exactly is a hangover?
A hangover is your body's reaction to being dehydrated and many of your vitamins and minerals have been flushed out of your system by your liver.
How do I solve this nasty situation?
You have a couple of remedies at your disposal. No hangover is the same and therefore non hangover will have the same remedy.
1. Drink lots of water!- Your most likely very dehydrated because your liver uses water to flush out the alcohol in your body. This is especially true of beer. If you had any caffeine while you were drunk either with your drinks or separately you'll be even more dehydrated.
2. Take some multi-vitamins- Your body has flushed many essential vitamins and you need to replenish yourself. Multi-vitamins are a great way to do this.
3. Anti-oxidants are your friend- These will also help your body get rid of any remaining alcohol in your body and also help you feel better. Wheat Grass has lots of these and other vitamins
4. If your stomach can handle it have something with some caffeine. This will help jump start your metabolism and hopefully get your body moving again. Don't over do this! Just once cup of coffee or even some tea will do. remember caffeine dehydrates you and your probably already dehydrated. After you've had some caffeine have another glass or two of water
5. Get some rest. Your body needs to recover. take a nap and don't plan to be very active for most of the day.
How can I avoid a hangover?
You will hear of plenty of crazy things to provent hangovers but I've only one to be very effective. Drink plenty of water before you fall asleep. Your body will have something to digest in your stomach and you won't be as dehydrated in the morning. The more water you drink the better off you will be and less likely you'll have a hangover. Also drink lots of water before you go out. Don't go crazy on this otherwise you'll be spending more time in the restroom than drinking with your friends.
It really depends on how drunk you are before you fall asleep. Try and stay awake for awhile so your body has more time to rid itself of the alcohol before you go to sleep. You are much less likely to have a hangover the next morning if your only tipsy by the time you fall asleep than passing out drunk.
Last but certainly not least. Don't drink as much. This should be common sense but its worth mentioning. The less alcohol you ingest the less you'll feel the after affects. Don't go overboard and your body will thank you and you'll be hangover free.
I hope these tips help you feel better quicker.
