Having Twins: A Fathers Perspective

Well, as you all know I am having twins in about a couple of weeks and I am quite excited and a little scared at the same time. There has been so much that I have learned and so much I have been putting up with. But, I am sure that the worst is almost over and I will be able to have Christmas a little early this year. So yes, I am having a boy and a girl and I am quite excited about it.

Some of the things that concerned me during my wife's pregnancy was her mood and her increased anger towards certain things. Now, they say that his is quite normal, but also something that men should have patience with, as well. They say that their hormones go up and down and I can tell you now that my experience with her hormones have been quite interesting these past few months.

I am sure that having twins will be quite difficult and fun at the same time. I am quite confident that all will work out in the end. During the last couples of weeks I have also seen my wife's ankles start to swell up quite a bit. This concerned me at first, so I checked online and they said that she may need to drink dome more water to reduce the swelling.

Now, when I went to the doctors they stated that she needed to cut town on her salt intake. Now, this seems quite interesting because I was giving her saltine crackers previously to alleviate some of her nausea. Since then, the doctors have made her wear these compressed socks to minimize the swelling. I hope it works.

I have also been getting off of work quite a bit assisting her with various things because her mobility has decreased, due to the weight of the twins. I can tell you now that I don't know how she does it. How can women carry so much weight on their bellies for such a long time? I definitely give her respect for that. That is why I help her when I can. But, sometimes duty calls and I have to get to work whether I like it or not.
