The Hawaii offense finally came alive on Sunday, scoring eight runs of their own in an 8-7 Game 2 win. That game will be immediately over-shadowed by what took place in the Alabama-Hawaii Game 3. Hawaii was down 4-3 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning (they play just seven innings in softball). With a runner on, Hawaii cranked a two-run home run to with the game 5-4 and send Hawaii on to the 2010 Women's College World Series. Jenna Rodriguez was the hero of the day, hitting her 16th home run of the year deep over the left field fence and just inside the foul pole to win the game. It was an amazing finish to the Super Regional in Tuscaloosa, and is sure to be a top play on numerous sporting programs tonight.
This Hawaii team just proved the impossible by taking out the top team in women's softball right now. Hawaii played their regional games in the Stanford Regional, where they beat out Texas Tech, Stanford, and UC Davis to advance to the Tuscaloosa Super Regional. It was there that they faced the difficult task of taking on the No. 1 seed in the tournament, and they proved that they could hold their own, coming up with the two-games-to-one series win on Sunday. Now Hawaii will play in the 2010 Women's College World Series, the first time that Hawaii has ever made it to the series, but things aren't going to get any easier. As it looks now, Hawaii will get to play Missouri in their first game of the softball championship round. 2010 Women's College World Series games get started on Thursday, June 3rd. We have linked the schedule below for Hawaii fans to check out.

Post a CommentTell me.. how does the better team lose?
How about they were the more over rated team.
In a one and done type series luck plays a big part, but in a best of 3 series usually the better team advances.
Sorry to see Alabama knocked out - I do think they were the better team.
Hawaii? Well, now...
