'Hawaii Five-0': After Holidays Cliffhanger and Wo Fat
Wo Fat Makes Another Appearance, but in Front of McGarrett
Perhaps you enjoy watching primetime cooking shows on the Food Network such as "Iron Chef America" you'll immediately recognize the actor who plays Wo Fat. One of the main presenters on "Iron Chef American" is a Hawaiian-born martial arts actor named Mark Dacascos. He utters the famous phrase "let the battle begin" with such fury for the chef's cue. Dacascos is known as "The Chairman" on "Iron Chef America."
Monday night's cliffhanging episode lead to a number of twist and turns. First it was the kidnapping of Steve McGarrett's sister, Mary. During the repeat episodes shown in the last weeks of 2010 they focused on Mary McGarrett and her curiosity with her late father's tool box. After a helicopter chase with Mary in the trunk of a vehicle she was saved from her kidnappers who also broke into her brother's house. All the evidence their father collected was gone, but luckily Mary took photos of everything, which was seen in one of the repeat episodes at the very end.
It turns out the yakuza or the Japanese mafia was involved in the car bombing intended for Jack McGarrett, Steve's and Mary's father. Instead, their mother decided to take the car out and that is how she died. A confrontation during a lunch engagement with the head of the yakuza in Honolulu is brought on by Danno and McGarrett. However, the mob boss is awaiting his date who turns out to be the "Hawaii Five-0" boss herself, the Governor of Hawaii. Later on she is furious and humiliated by McGarrett's actions at the restaurant until she learns the truth.
With the team's effort in gathering evidence from the yakuza underling's club hangout McGarrett was able to properly confront and arrest the yakuza boss at a posh golf course. There is one guest amongst the golfers McGarrett is not familiar with. He asks him his name. The gentleman says "Wo Fat." McGarrett tells him to leave, which he gladly takes off in his golf cart with a sly grin across his face. Let the battle of the enemies begin on "Hawaii Five-0."
