Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie Makes Obama Birth Certificate Controversy Worse
Abercrombie launched an investigation last month to uncover President Obama's Hawaiian birth certificate, thus putting to rest once and for all claims by some, called "Birthers," that Obama was not actually born in the United States and thus is constitutionally ineligible to be president. Abercrombie was a friend of Obama's parents and now the President as a young child growing up in Hawaii.
Abercrombie's attempt to put to rest the birther conspiracy theory has instead served to fan its flames even further. What, after all, does the President have to hide, some people are now asking.
The mystery only deepened when reporter and Abercrombie friend Mike Evens recent suggested that the Governor told him the birth certificate actually does not exist. Evens later said that he had "misspoke."
The comedy of errors surrounding the birth certificate has brought into focus one of the more bizarre conspiracy theories of the early 21st century. The theory is that Barack Obama was not born in the United States but in Kenya, the country of his father's origin. The "Birthers," as they are called, maintain that would make Obama not a natural-born citizen of the United States and therefore ineligible to hold the office he now occupies.
Unfortunately from the point of view of the Birthers, it would not matter whether Barack Obama had been born in Hawaii, Kenya, or the far side of the Moon. According to Title 8 of the U.S, Code, section 1401, Obama is a natural born citizen of the United States because his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, was a citizen of the United States at the time of his birth.
Clearly, however, there must be something else that is embarrassing in the original birth certificate that is causing the President to refuse permission to release it. Some have suggested that under religion Obama was classified as a "Muslim," even though his father was a lapsed Muslim and Obama was raised as a Christian.
In any case, one wonders what the Birthers expect to happen. If President Obama were not actually President under the Constitution, a crisis would erupt for which there is no easy answer. Would all acts committed under his allegedly fraudulent presidency be null and void? Would he have to be removed from the White House and would that require impeachment? Chaos would erupt.
In any event, the Birther controversy is not going away and will cause a number of Americans to doubt the legitimacy of the Obama presidency.

Well, the only thing to say about this is that Mr. Obama is certainly lucky that he is a Democrat otherwise his love-struck groupies in the MSM would have hounded him relentlessly.
I mean these are the same jackals hanging out in Kinko parking lots to meet fictional people to get 1969 memos typed on MS Word about non-issues with President Bush, yet none have ever even asked why he refuses to release it.
Look there are any number of reasons why a man would spend millions not to release his birth certificate, though I can't think of any at the moment, but no one but a Democrat could get this far while refusing to release his college transcripts, medical records, employment records, and virtually everything else about qualifications and experience.
Barry just show us the proof and all this will be over and done with you idiot.
I don't know if he isn't natural born, or didn't get student aid as a foreigner, but WHY WON'T HE JUST SHOW US THE PAPERWORK to put an end to it?????
I'm not an Obama fan, but thought this birther stuff was mostly nonsense. I'm not so sure now, we need some truth.

Unfortunately this is what passes for "journalims" these days. Not only is this statement FALSE by omission of some very important details, it shows an astounding lack of professionalism and even just simple intellectual curiosity on the part of the "reporter".
There is much more in terms of factual details and legal issues involved in this case that it cannot be simply dimissed as an inconvenient and persistent conspiracy theory.... but these faux journalists keep trying...
Lets see his college records. Was he getting aid as a "foreign" student? There are more than just "birth certificate" issues here. Someone doesn't spend over a million dollars fighting an issue if they don't have something to hide. McCain was accused of not being eligible and within days he produced his records and that was the end of the accusations.
