Hawaiian Made Gifts Make Unique Gifts

Give a Taste of Hawaii This Year

Sandy James

Looking for a unique gift for someone can sometimes be mind boggling and time consuming. By unique gift, I mean something different and something made in America to help our economy. A gift that will surprise and delight will be remembered for a long time and a Hawaiian made gift will certainly do that.

I was recently in Hawaii and have compiled a list of quality gift items that are made in Hawaii which makes them unique and they're American made. If you have someone in your life that you'd like to purchase a unique gift for, take a look at these Hawaiian companies that offer quality products. I have purchased and used items from all of them. Keep in mind that these companies have nice gifts all year round, so any time of year is nice to receive a Hawaiian made gift.

Island Soaps and Candle Works

Located on the island of Kauai, Island Soaps and Candle Works has been in operation since 1984. They offer natural products with scents of the Hawaiian islands. Their glycerin soaps and botanical Hawaiian lotions are lightly scented and make wonderful gifts. You'll find scents from tropical Hawaiian plants such as Plumeria Blossom, Pikake Jasmine, Pineapple Passionfruit, Mango Coconut Guava, and Creamy Coconut. These Hawaiian made gift items make a unique gift because of their scents. I always purchase the floral scented Plumeria Blossom which is a favorite flower to make Hawaiian leis out of. Pikake Jasmine is wonderful too. Their lotions are light and moisturize the skin nicely with a base of coconut oil. You can find shower gels, body lotions, soaps, and gift sets available.

Candles from Island Soaps and Candle Works make a unique gift as they have bamboo candles, monkeypod wood candles, and coconut shell candles. Of course, they have pillars, votives and floating candles also in tropical scents. To view their products, please go to Island Soaps and Candle Works.

Hawaiian Host
If you've ever been to any of the Hawaiian islands, you'll recognize this brand name. Hawaiian Host has gift packs, gift baskets, and boxes of their tasty chocolate covered macadamia nuts. Their products make a nice Hawaiian made gift for anyone who loves chocolate. You'll find dark chocolate, milk chocolate, sugar-free chocolate, Maui Caramacs, Kona Caramacs, MacNut Crunch, ToffeeMacs, and other delightful items with macadamia nuts and chocolate. They also have Hawaiian coffee, teas, and other specialty items. They do have quality chocolate products that are great as gifts any time of year. Please visit Hawaiian Host Chocolates for more information.

Hawaiian Islands Tea Company

Located on the big island of Hawaii, the Hawaiian Islands Tea Company prepares fabulous Hawaiian tropical teas for our enjoyment. Using the Camellia sinensis plant, they prepare black, green, and other naturally flavored teas with a tropical taste. Passion Fruit Na Pali, Guava Ginseng, Pineapple, Strawberry Lychee, Hibiscus Honey Lemon, and Coconut Macadamia Herbal teas are some of the tropical flavors that are currently available. I haven't tried them all yet, but my two favorites so far are the Passion Fruit Na Pali and the Coconut Macadamia Herbal. There are gift sets available and they'll impress the tea lover on your list. To view their selection of teas, visit Hawaiian Islands Tea Company.

Kauai Coffee Company

The Kauai Coffee Company is the largest coffee grower in the United States. With over 4 million coffee trees on 3,100 acres, they grow and produce coffee on the island of Kauai. If you visit Kauai and enjoy coffee, stop iby their visitor's center to shop for lots of coffee items and to see the coffee farm. Many flavors are available including Kauai Estate Reserve, Roastmaster's Choice, and the Specialty Peaberries coffee. There are also flavors with macadamia nuts or coconut. Gift sets are available and they also have an online coffee club that you can join. For a Hawaiian made gift in coffee, try the Kauai Coffee Company.

Aunty Liliko'i

Liliko'i means passion fruit and Aunty Liliko'i products are very popular among native Hawaiians. A favorite dessert at local restaurants is a cheesecake with liliko'i sauce or a fish entrée served with liliko'i sauce. I can tell you that both are yummy. On this website, you'll find jams, jellies, syrups, mustards, dressings, and butters made with this tropical fruit. There are combinations of tropical flavors available such as passion fruit and guava or passion fruit and coconut. You'll even find different flavored salts that any cook would like to experiment with. Passion Fruit Chili Pepper, Guava Garlic, and a Hawaiian Rub salt are some of the salt choices. Aunty Liliko'i doesn't make just food items. You can also find bath oils, shampoos, conditioners, men's shaving gels, and massage oils that are all Hawaiian made gifts. For a look at all of Aunty Liliko'is products, you can visit their website at Aunty Liliko'i.
