Waialua, HI 96791
United States of America
Off the beaten path of Haleiwa is its sister town of Waialua. Waialua and Haleiwa is essentially the same town. Often residents do not make the distinction between the two. They both share the same High School and three elementary schools. It is a quiet town and if you are staying there, be sure that you get things early as the town pretty much closes shop at 9:00 pm.
So let's talk about sunsets. Down the road in Waialua is a small section called Mokuleia. At the end of Mokuleia is an area where the road comes to an end called Kaena Point. This point is pretty much a dead end stop and not much is out there. The beaches and water around there are really not for swimming as you can see sharks at certain times right off the shore line.
You can park at the point in the afternoon and watch the sky change from different hues of orange and red. The sky is painted magnificently with such rich colors that you forget where you are. It is very serene and very easy to lose track of time. It reminds you of how beautiful Hawaii is. No sound of buses or traffic, here you can find yourself one with nature. And believe me when I say it is a once in a lifetime experience, especially if you are a visitor.
There are tons of things to enjoy when you are in Hawaii. The surf for one thing is one of the best in the world, if not the best. The food is a unique blend of cultures and the sunsets are some of the most dazzling. There are many places to view the sunset on Oahu, but being that the sun sets on the west side, then Kaena Point is one of the best views you will ever get. If you are ever on the island of Oahu, be sure to check out the magical sunsets at Kaena point, believe me you won't regret it.
