The Primetime Emmy Award nominated HBO drama series "Treme" is currently in production on season 2, and the show's casting director is seeking people to appear on a Mardi Gras Episode shooting the first 10 days of March, 2011.

David Simon and Eric Overmyer (who has lived in New Orleans part-time for 21 years) are producers/writers of the series which is set in post-Katrina New Orleans, chronicling the rebuilding of a unique American culture after historic devastation. The show's name "Treme" refers to one of New Orleans' oldest neighborhoods, an historically important source of African-American music and culture. The series plot begins three months after Hurricane Katrina.

HBO announced that "Treme" would be renewed for a second season only three days after the show's premier episode. Reaction to the series by television critics has been very favorable. New York Times critic Alessandra Stanley viewed the series as a sign of the city's enduring happiness and love of life.

Details on how to be considered for both extra work and acting roles can be found on the following casting post:
