HCG diet is making its way around the internet and into many homes. Why is this diet different than others? According to the HCG diet website, the HCG diet can help an overweight person to lose 1 to 3 pounds per day. A massive amount of weight can be loss by using this diet. But is it safe and what are the things that you must do to achieve the weight loss potential that is offered through the HCG diet?

This article is all about the HCG diet as found on the internet and through my own personal research that I conducted over the course of this diet being a hot item on the internet

What is the HCG diet?

The HCG diet consists of a very low calorie diet and treatments of HCG that is administered through oral suspension or injections. It has been said that the diet actually helps people to understand the consumption of food and why it is important to only consume proportion sizes. HCG is what women produce in the placenta during pregnancy.

Is it dangerous?

With all diets, it is best to contact your physician before going on any diet. The HCG diet does not take away from your muscles or vitamins in the body but instead it strips away the fat that has been stored in your body. Since the diet only calls for you to eat 500 calories a day and using HCG it will actually help you to use the other calories that your body needs to get rid of and this is why you are able to lose so much weight in a day.

Can I survive on 500 calories a day?

According to the website for the HCG diet (source stated below) the 500 calorie consumption may make you hungry for the first few days and according to them, after the first two weeks of being on the diet, hunger will sustain and you may find that a small proportion of food will fill you up.

Do I recommend this diet?

I am strongly towards dieting and exercise without the help or use of medication but I do feel that some people who are obese, may not or have struggled relentlessly to try and lose weight. If you are going to use the HCG diet I would advise that you contact your doctor or get a second opinion about the use of the HCG drug.
