He Followed Me Home

Casey
He followed me home

With his eyes

Reminding me of the devil who walks the earth

He followed me home

In my skin

Which twitched and freaked out

He followed me home

In my mind

That truck revving up ridiculously

When I parked I finally let a tear fall

I gathered myself

Walked into my home

Where for some reason I couldn't look at anyone's face

Barely a word I could get out

Because he followed me home

His invisible hands around my throat

So afraid my heart was going to give out

From it's wild and incorrigible beat in my chest

He followed me home

In my head just like he still follows me everywhere

Just like he used too....

Oh, wow! You poor thing...I'm glad you can get your anxiety about your ex out on paper! Hope you never have to see him again.

Casey, that was very powerful. I know how this can feel...
