He Gave His Life Away

If one day everything was gone
that I had always held so dear,
And I had to start completely new
with everything fresh and clear,
I'd want to thank my Lord above
to be alive and well that day.,
because the cross of Christ means
my eternal salvation...
and no one can take that away.

I'm glad that I'm a Christian,
because I know my God loves me.
And I'll never forget His only Son who died
to prove that love to me.
I pray I'll always have the courage
to stand up for my Lord.
Side by side...and defend Him every day.
Because there is nothing doubting,
I love the Lord...
Who gave His life away.

From the lips of my mouth
to the ears of God above,
Across the width of my repentant heart,
I'll always speak His love.
To the highest halls of heaven,
He's my Life,
my Truth,
my Way.
And that is why I have Christ in my heart...
because He gave His life away.
