He Loves Us All

An Easter Poem

Gwen Navarrete
Amidst baskets and bunnies and palms that are bent
And eating those goodies we gave up for Lent
Let's remember the Man whom Heaven sent,
The true reason behind this Easter event

The One who was nailed to a tree for our sins
A human He was with the Spirit within
Our Brother, our Savior, our closest kin
The weight of the world borne down on Him

His life for our souls He was asked to give
So He willingly became Rome's captive
Our Father He fervently asked to forgive
He died for all of us so we might live

He did this for love of all humankind
Regardless of ties you think that may bind
Of religion or race or gender He was blind
In His Heart love for all you will find

So whether Muslim or Hindu
Buddhist, Christian, or Jew
You need to know Jesus loves them too
For He loves us all, yes, me and you
