He Promised

We Would Be

Stephanie R. Barry
You kept telling me,
You would come to get me;
I see it was all a lie,
You look me straight in the eye.

How could you make promises,
That you never intended to keep;
How could you abuse my heart,
And knock me to my feet.

You promised to change my whole world,
Everything was suppose to be better;
You were coming to get me,
We suppose to be together,

You lied, you lied, you lied,
Now what am I to do,
I put all my hopes and dreams,
I put my trust in you.
