He Seems like a Good Guy (At First...)

Steven Jacob Borthick
Go your way
Don't worry about me
You don't anyway
But you can't see
You chased him
What a dream he is
But you forget
Right where you fit

After all he's great fun (at first)
And will satisfy your hunger (at first)
He seems like a good guy (at first)
But I think I'm gonna die

I came to you
And spoke the truth
But you didn't want to listen
Just wanted your own way
Now this is what I've got to say

It's true I'll forgive you
But I can't take you back
So I guess I'll see you
For now it's time to hit the sack
Well at least you've got somewhere to go
And now you know I know
So there's no more sneaking
Just go to your man because

After all he's great fun (at first)
And will satisfy your hunger (at first)
He seems like a good guy (at first)
But I think I'm gonna die

I don't know what
You were thinking
And why you thought
I wouldn't catch you sneaking
You got your change
Have a nice day
Yes ma'am goodbye
Now if you don't mind
I'd prefer not to stay
Have fun with your guy
Oh I'm sure you will

After all he's great fun (at first)
And will satisfy your hunger (at first)
He seems like a good guy (at first)
But I think I'm gonna die

A very good poem expressing the dilemma that occurs to every poet.Your poem is a fusion of narrative and lyric. Here the poet i.e. yourself is the lyrical hero. The poem ventilates the turmoil of the poet which he faces during his literary career.
