He Shouted Switch but Got a Blow

Mischief is an inherent tendency with some individuals. It is more so when one is a teenager. We have a case of a man instigating a boy to shout at a lamp post which gets him a severe blow from a stranger passing through. Now read the story.

Parmer stands at the gate. A young boy, Charles, joins him in wayside conversation. Then Parmer sights James coming at a distance. James has a projection on his head which resembles a switch and which earned for him the nick name 'switch.

Parmer: Charles, do you want to see light burning during day.

Charles: Yes. Can you show me?

Parmer: Then do just as I tell you. Shout 'switch' looking at the electric lamp post.

Parmer waits for James, who is fast approaching him. Once he is very close he signals the boy to shout.

Charles: Shouts, 'switch'

Charles shouts at his peak voice. He looks at the lamp post for the light to burn. But to his surprise the boy gets a blow. The boy pleads innocence. The person (Parmer) who instigated, goes inside his house.

Charles: Sir, I am innocent. The man (Parmer) who just now disappeared asked me to shout "switch" saying that the lamp would burn. Then I got the blow from you.
James (realizing the mischief of Parmer) says: Boy, I am terribly sorry. Pardon me. Next time I meet Parmer I will give him a blow akin to an electric shock.
