To sweeten the pot even further, the Miss Rodeo USA Pageant finals will be held at the same time and place.

Rodeo fans and newcomers to the sport alike will be treated to three days of bronco busting, roping bull riding and all the excitement that man versus animal can generate. These are professional cowboys and cowgirls at their finest, vying for a total purse of $350,000. Only the top 15 of the cowboys/cowgirls from the U.S. and Canadian circuits will be competing for top honors. Other participants will also be providing rodeo events for the viewing pleasure of attendees.

The Miss Rodeo USA Pageant will have events each day, with the winner crowned on the 18th of January.

Ticket prices for the events range from $15-25 per person per performance, or a $100 ticket per person per performance. There will be two performances on Saturday, January 17, 2008. January 17th is also Kids Day at the rodeo, and all Kids Day activities are free of charge, beginning at 11AM.

I'll never forget my first rodeo. It came time for the Star Spangled Banner and here comes a recording of Elvis singing the national anthem over the loudspeaker system!
