I like to consider myself a beer aficionado. I like any and all beer whether it's light, dark or in between. I don't discriminate Natty Light or Olde English, and like a nice Guinness or Newcastle just as much.

So it came as no surprise that I stumbled upon my Mecca this weekend while walking around Prospect Heights. Brooklyn Beer & Soda on Washington Avenue has become my new place to get not only my usual suspects, but also to sample some of the finest microbrews around.

They have a 16 tap rotating growler system where you can fill up with some of the best beer around. Their website usually does a poll to decide what will be featured next and the most recent choices are Troegs Dreamweaver Wheat, Ramstein Hefeweizen, and Sixpoint Brownstone.

Seeing how Sixpoint is one of the local breweries, you can always be sure to find some of their feature brews at BB&S, which is a great thing because I have yet to sample a Sixpoint that I don't like.

The party-boy in me loves BB&S as they will order any keg you want and deliver it to your abode in time for your next bash. If you are ever interested as to what they have on tap, you can check out their selection with their online beer menu. It not only lists all of the brews in the growler system, but everything else they have in stock. There is nary a beer they won't have.

I will be headed to BB&S this weekend to stock up. I hope to see you there!

It is an honor and privilege to have our own very great brewery. How forward looking of the city fathers to have Brooklyn merged into Greater New York, in 1898. As a New Yorker, I can be proud of Brooklyn Brewery and still live in Manhattan. Our fine metropolitan transportation system allows trips to the brewery via a number of routes. Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall The Metropolitan Museum many world class institutes of higher learning and hospitals, The Brooklyn Bridge, The Staten Island Ferry, great restaurants.... and now........The Brooklyn Brewery. Walk proud New Yorkers.
