One of the first eye catching things about this product is the dark blue bottle. It stands out from all of their other shampoos and automatically draws you in to study the label. The label said that this intensive treatment shampoo was for the toughest dandruff. The main dandruff fighting component in the shampoo is selenium sulfide at 1%. The label also says that this shampoo helps fight the itching, flaking, scaling, irritation and redness associated with seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff.
I decided to try the shampoo the night I brought it home, figuring it couldn't hurt. The most shocking thing about this shampoo, besides the bright blue bottle is the bright orange liquid that pours from the bottle during shower time. At first, I was rather put off by the bright orange, but the smell drew me in. I made sure to rub the shampoo in rather well and washed it off immediately.
I saw results the first day. One day one, my hair itself was immediately softer. I haven't had such soft hair in months. Not only that, I saw an increase in the amount of volume that my hair had. I hadn't seen that either in month's. I noticed a slight decrease in the amount of dandruff I had. One day two, my hair was even softer and bouncier than the first wash. The amount of dandruff I had decreased even more than it had during the first wash.
Since day one, my hair has become easier to manage. I can brush my hair with ease, and put it up quicker than before. I have to use fewer products to keep my hair from going crazy. That's not the only plus; the amount of dandruff I have now is equal to hardly anything. So basically, I have no dandruff!
For specific purposes, the label says the shampoo is safe for frequent use. However, it is recommended that it is used twice a week to help keep the amount of dandruff you have to a minimum. However, because of the selenium sulfide, if you have tinted, grey, bleached or permed hair, you'll need to rinse for a full five minutes to make sure no damage occurs.
If you are looking for a cheap product that prevents and helps treat dandruff, I definitely recommend this product. The Head and Shoulders Intensive Treatment shampoo can be purchased for about $5 or under for a 14 ounce bottle. Most drug stores and larger chain stores should carry this product.
Try it yourself. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
